I’m the guy behind East Van Digital & Fresh Baked DJs…been dropping tunes since ’98 and have been a Shambhala resident DJ since ’04, having played many a memorable set in the legendary Fractal Forest. For 3 years I hosted The Shakedown radio show and with the Liquidbeat collective, helping to produce some of the B.C. interior’s most inspiring parties. Currently, I’m a resident DJ with Intimate Productions, who maintained the long running night SiGNAL Saturdays at the former Lotus Sound Lounge in Vancouver.
I play what I think is best for the moment; I’m a pretty obsessive collector of music with a deep library and a fond love of programming. Bassline. Breaks. Disco Punk. Electro. Fidget. Funky House. Jump Up. Minimal. Tech House. Techno. Trip Hop. Vinyl, cd’s, Ableton, Serato…I use them all. In a Fresh Baked DJs live set, you can expect to hear me remixing on the fly, triggering samples, tracks, loops and adding live synth to the mix, blending elements of Bassline, Electro, Fidget & House.
Recently I’ve remixed for Big Dope P (FRA), Chilli & Sage (CAN), Dee Bass & Dialect (CAN), Jay Klos (CAN), LuCity (AUS), Neon (UK), Perfect Cell (AUS), Woodhead (CAN) & produced for Jody Black (CAN).
My tracks have received dj support from Adam Vicious, Amanda Rude, B Breaks, Bastet, Ben Mac, Big Dope P, Bobby Blanco, Bondi House DJs, Briden, Christian Homan, De Koze, Denis A, Dirty DJs, DJ Dunks (Funk Hunters), DJ FM, DJ Ingela (Swedish House Crew), DJ Kue, DJ Roog (Hardsoul), Filth & Splendour, Grant Nelson, Groove Junkies, The Incredible Melting Man (Bass Invaderz), James Taylor, Jay Klos, Jesse James, Jim “Shaft” Ryan, Joey Silvero, Judge Jules (Radio 1), Justin Hale, Kissy Sell Out (Radio 1), Kohsuke Fukuda (Galaxy Records, Japan), Leisuregroove, Lisa Lashes, Lyssa, Nikki Elise, Robb G, Rustem Rustem, Shell B, Smoothie, Swerve Signal, Tim Adresen, Tony Technics, Travis Ketler, Van Tek (Dope Tito), Voodoo Vandals, Woodhead…

One part Palletz, One part MrMacHimself, Two parts turntables, Add Endless Library of Mindblowing Music, You Get “The GoodfellaZ”
The Goodfellaz have started 2012 out with a huge BANG. Every show these boys have thrown down has had the crowd flying out off their ass to hit the floor. Being brought up in the Vancoucer Island electronic music scene, these two artists both started their musical journeys with the devastating bass that the Island brings. With 20+ years of music experience between the two of them, brings a whole new musical massacre when they take over the decks.
Already having opened for some big names individually such as Yan Zombie, Stylust, Emotionz, JADA, Kill The Noise, Czech & together opening for names like Mark Instinct (Rottun), You are bound to see these guys playing alongside some huge names in the future!
With Palletz deriving from heavy side of the spectrum with Dubstep, DnB, and Electro, and MrMacHimself hailing from Electro House, Breaks, and Fidget, these two never fail to get the entire crowd outta their seats and tearing up the dancefloor with their bangin’ style and fierce one on one battles they bring out to every show! Spending 2011 playing all kinds of parties and festivals, getting signed with various local labels, these boys have definately been proving that they will make 2012 a super busy & exciting year. With 2012 starting out heavy, they have been destroying the club, hitting the scene hard rocking crowds wherever they go!!

GenericWhitebird, Dubselekta, ARR Entertainment break beats
Whether he’s opening for international superstars like Tipper, Bassnectar and the Freestylers; rocking a headlining slot at an outdoor party or providing backdrop beats in a local lounge, Generic is the kind of DJ who fully brings it, whatever the gig. His combination of technical skills (the guy has taken several Vancouver Island DJ competition titles), impeccable ear for crowd-rocking tunes and a fun-loving attitude makes Generic (nee Cole Magnusson) one of the Island’s most sough-after disc jockeys. Expect one of his sets to be chock-a-block with broken beats, glitch hop, drum and bass and dubstep—including some of his own tracks, edits and remixes—with plenty of cutting and scratching thrown in for good measure. With skills like that, it’s no surprise this 10-year vet behind the decks rarely goes a weekend without dropping a set
AntagonistWest Ave Productions, Monkey Dub Recordings, Abducted Records, Wipe Me Down Records, Bass Music,Dubstep/Glitch-Hop/Drum'n'Bass/Moombah
Currently residing in Victoria, British Columbia, Antagonist is bringing a fresh take on the bass music scene, on both local and international scales. With a passion for sound design, he drives forth a unique blend of soft melodic textures and wild savage basslines like a tour de force. Now in his sophomore year as a producer, he has accumulated releases on multiple record labels, established a strong online fanbase, and gotten rotations and accolades from many of his peers and influences, including Excision, Numbernin6, DJ Sashwat, Mark Instinct, Cottonmouth, and many more.
Antagonist began his career in 2007 as a hip-hop artist, both producing for hire and to accompany his own lyrics. His prior knowledge in rhythm guitar and thrash metal found Antagonist’s productions influenced strongly by hostile tones and dark melodies. The ensuing search for a more aggressive sound lead him to leave ‘traditional’ hip-hop behind and focus on dubstep - which has recently expanded to include drum and bass, glitch hop, moombahton, and various other genres of ‘bass music’. His focus on combining the hard-hitting beats from rap music and the aggressive tones in metal, while adding hints of classical music and middle eastern flavours, are the driving force behind Antagonist’s unique sound.
With a well-established skillset in the studio, Antagonist is now naturally branching outwards to DJing. With priority set upon his original productions, he creates intelligent, multi-genre sets ranging from the deepest of deep to the most savage heavy basslines around. Whatever the style, wherever the venue, be prepared for a thorough soaking in sub bass!
Since 1997, Davin Greenwell, otherwise known as AFK, has been pushing the boundaries of the progressive sound. Being heavily involved in the West Coast electronic music scene through many years of community and FM radio, club and events promotion, and most prominently with Pacific Front Recordings (PFR), his performances, once under the name “ariz0na,” have been regarded as legendary by many. Davin has been remixed by names such as Stefan Anion, Powerplant, Shiloh, Steve May, Dumb Dan, Jacob Todd, Dustin H, Jarius Miller, Fractal, Seed, Phokus, Desert Dwellers, Blake Jarrell, Matt Rowan, Jeff Devas, Influenza, Micah, Formulate, Jaytech, c79, and His Boy Elroy. His remixing efforts range from the strange and beautiful Ulrich Schnauss and Bent to the west coast essential rockers Vince Vaccaro and Jets Overhead. AFK stands for “away from keyboard,” a reference to internet culture, but also to where true adventure lays in life. AFK music generally reflects this exploratory philosophy on life - his tracks aim to take you somewhere new each time.

The existence of Dodd has long been questioned by those who’ve not been on his dancefloor—but those who’ve been there are fast and thorough believers. From his humble beginnings as a dancefloor observer Dodd carefully catalogued the sounds and reactions of the people in order to pinpoint the perfect palette of progressive sounds: blending trance, glitch, dub and techno tidbits into memorable dancefloor journeys that transcend sonic expectations. With these dancefloor commandments Dodd has been rocking crowds consistently in Victoria, as well as becoming a mainstay of the Entheos Conference and Festival. Whether you’re a believer or not, with the speakers as his chorus, you will be moved by the voice of Dodd…

Egyptrixx makes celestial club music; jeep music for a Saturn desert. There is an exhilarating right-but-wrong tension that all of his tracks share - a shifting balance between melodic and dissonant, rapturous and antisocial. His releases challenge the status quo and impress with a unique style informed by elements of techno, house, dubstep, pop and drone music. His debut album, ‘Bible Eyes’ was released in March of 2011 to critical acclaim from Pitchfork, The Wire, Spinner, Fader, and many others.

Colin was introduced to the rave scene in 1994.After a few years he was inspired to start playing records. He has been lucky enough to play a wide variety of shows over the last 12 years, and enjoyed every moment. He used to be able to do the 2-step (and was really good at it)until a cheap pair of shoes caused a wardrobe malfunction which ended up resulting in a dj name change in early 2002.For the past two years colin has spent most of his money and time in his studio. He has friend requests pending from such Djs as Renee pilgrim,Stanton Warriors,Dj Lorin, and of course Dr Trance. He chooses spend more time looking into the future than in the past and is very excited to see where electronic music will end up in twenty years. His favourite colour is red ...by the way.
Andrew Lynch has been playing Breakz for 10 years getting his first gig in London’s infamous squat party scene, playing his friends records in warehouse on the East Side near Kings Cross. Andrew soon became well known for his wild stage presence, comedic humour…and yes he did buy his own records, and soon moved back to Victoria.
Andrew’s Breakz sets are heavily influenced by Hip Hop and his sound is what he calls “Shit That Makes Your Ass Move!“a mix of Booty Breakz, Nu Skool Breakz, Big Beat and Funky Breakz. And Andrew has brought this perfect mix programming, style, and his personality to the sweat drenched dance floors of Hush and Sunset Room playing with some of the BC’s best Including Czech, W.A.X., Jon-E Industry, Carson, Mykee, Briden, Happyfeet and Tom Nemesis. Andrew has now started to produce his own music when he is not writing about himself in a 3rd person point of view, so you can expect some homemade weapons of mass destruction be played out in the near future.

Alissa is passionate about art, cooking, clothing & costume design, music, & dancing. As “NeonSally”, she spent many sleepless nights dancing all over the interior of BC & under the stars at The Shambhala Music Festival to her favorite DJs.
Alissa’s first appearance as DJ “Lyssa” took place in 2005. Having spent 11 years in Mexico, and being fortunate enough to be exposed to Latin culture, she has a strong desire to explore her roots in her musical selections. Depending on what mood we catch her in, hot summer afternoons call for deep sexy Chicago beats and bouncy latin-infused house, and on colder nights, expect anything from dirty deep organic tribal tech to quirky & fun latin tech house….
Lyssa made Victoria her home in spring 2007. Recently Lyssa has had the privilege of opening for some amazing artists, like DJ Rice, Lori J Ward, and Kenzie Clarke. She has performed at summer festivals like Victoria Electronic Music Festival, Entheos Gathering, Uprising, and Solaris, as a solo dj, and with Skylo Raine as “UFO”. You can catch her playing in Victoria at some of the city’s coolest lounges & underground hotspots like The Sunset Room, Hush, & Base Lounge, or at two of Canada’s best music festivals, Entheos Gathering and Shambhala Music Festival.

Miami Nights 1984Rosso Corsa Records Dreamwave,Outrun Electro
From Victoria, BC, Canada; Michael Glover is Miami Nights 1984 and co-founder of Rosso Corsa Records—an independent record label dedicated to 1980s synthesizers. With Rosso Corsa Records he is championing artists such as Mitch Murder, Lazerhawk and Jordan F to make 1980s-inspired music with modern fidelity.
Being among the pioneers of this revival, Mike’s first project Actrazer initially defined the Rosso Corsa sound together with output from label co-founder Lazerhawk. They coined their music Outrun, a genre of soundtrack music with epic leads and arpeggiated synths. At the same time, Kavinsky, the Outrunners and the Valerie Collective were all contributing to this new sound. Since 2010 Michael Glover has been ecstatic about the success of his second project known as Miami Nights 1984 (MN84). Characterized by smooth synthesizers and nostalgic solos, this new sound accentuates the carefree feel of the 1980s. The Miami Nights sound is garnering support on an international scale with the official remix of ‘Somebody I Used To Know.’ by Gotye. It infuses 1980s charm with Gotye’s powerful voices and moody lyrics. Rollings Stone says it’s an “eighties-inspired synth-pop remix, inspired by [mike’s] love of old John Hughes films” while VH1 says “It’s a synth-led 80s redux, and it’s pretty rad”
When asked about influences, Mike says he obviously takes from the 80s: “The music, movies, shows, cars and girls are all running through my imagination when I write a piece of music. I’m not happy with a piece of music unless I can imagine it as the soundtrack to a film or show. Ever since I was a child I enjoyed synth-based music like Tangerine Dream, Jean Michael Jarre and Ray Lynch.” His name coincides with the original run of Miami Vice TV show on September 28, 1984. In creating his sound he uses “a variation of analogue synths and virtual instruments in Abelton Live. I’ve been using more virtual instruments for convenience and ability to leave a project without worrying about getting the same sound again.” Many of the parts are first recorded from live instrumentation and tweaked afterward in Ableton. “If I had to choose my best track… it would have to be Elevator Of Love or Ocean Drive“. I think many of us would agree with Ocean Drive which is a soundtrack to California’s Pacific Coast Highway or even Ocean Drive on the Miami Beach strip:

Braeden Parrott has been playing records and files for people in and around the west coast of Canada for the past 14 years. In his professional dj career, he’s worn many hats - from his beginnings as a progressive house and trance dj to working in mainstream clubs playing top 40 and mainstream house, to cruise ships all around the world.
Braeden also was part of one of the most successful and longest running club nights in Canada - the legendary saturday nights at Hush named Lush alongside Brent Carmichael. After taking over the night himself and took it to new heights, playing alongside greats such as Mark Farina, Dekoze, Evil Nine, Czech, Greg Benz, Shiloh and many more.
Braeden has always been able to play many genres with confidence but is best known for playing harder techno, gritty progressive, tribal house and rocking electro.
Being able to pull from his experience from many different dancefloors - late night afterhours with 40-50 ppl in sweaty secret rooms at 4am to packed clubs rocking hard - be prepared to dance.
Chord’s philosophy is simple: play good music. His style flows through deep dub and minimal to house and techno—a slow burn of building rhythms accelerating into a smouldering bass climax. Moving from making killer mixed tapes for friends to playing records for local parties, his easygoing demeanour continues to engage audiences at clubs, festivals, and on his weekly web radio broadcast DUB:fuse (dub.ca). Chord’s DJ sets return focus to the music as its own spectacle, with intuitively constructed sets that play out with a constrained and powerful force. His influences range from early dub, ambient, stripped-down minimal, jackin’ house, and ground-shaking techno.
As half of the production team OVERCAST SOUND, he has played live sets at international shows including in Berlin, the Biennial of the Americas, MUTEK, and the upcoming inaugural Aguilar Dubtechno Festival in the south of France (September 2011).
Since 2010, these guys have consistently destroyed every dance floor they touch. They are regarded for their creative live sets which jump from genre to genre seamlessly, for their original productions and remixes, and for their unsurpassed energy on stage.

Spending an unhealthy amount of time perfecting his craft, Lewd Behavior (aka Wyatt Compagna) is a highly technical artist. In the studio he is meticulous, and on stage he is outrageous. If he sets foot in the club you can expect live edits, mash ups, original productions, remixes, and exclusive tracks he would be assassinated for telling you about. Not to mention he was dropping beats at the bar before he was old enough to drink. This all culminates into an infectious live experience that will keep you feverishly salivating for more.

His career began in 80’s, he was a self taught musician, skilful with the battery and percussion instruments. Joy is a polyhedric artist with several discographic successes, important partnerships and awards in his background. All these experiences made him the complete artist of today. Joy has already released hundreads of tracks during the latest years, both under his real name and under different pseudonyms. Joy Kitikonti is a complete artist and he has a deep musical background, he’s really appreciated by his collegues for his creative fantasy and his original sound. When Chino moved to Vancouver years ago, he got his first taste of electro. With a voracious appetite for more, he was instantly hooked on electro beats and buzzing bass lines. Quickly becoming a download maniac, scavenging the online world for all the electro he could get his hands on, Chino realized this was not enough! Two CDJ’s, Serato Scratch Live, and a pioneer mixer later, DJ Chi No was born! Since then Chi No has been heard killing dancefloors all over the place… No nightclub, afterhours, or rooftop is SAFE from being slammed by his heavy beats & heart pounding live sets!!
Now by getting his hands wet with producing, you can expect Chi No soon to be sharing his dirty electro dreams with the world…
Chi No is also the resident dj at Hush for their Monday nights with his partner in crime Soulfix… Their tag team style and in “yo face” approach to dropping bombs always has the dancefloor packed and jumping!!!
As 1/4 of the group Define Audio which is currently signed to Rottun Records. Beatsmith is also known to drop the funk real hard in his solo preformances. He has upcoming releases coming out with Critical and Hedrok currently pursuing the mid tempo funky bass genre. With other 6 years of beat making with experience in running his own hip hop studio and having produced beats for many rappers and even a few albums he is very interested by the hip hop influenced ghetto funk sound and wishes to pursue it to his full extent.

He’s been working on productions of his own recently. He has been mixing seriously for the past few years.
We started playing together two years ago, and decided we needed to make a name for ourselves. We both live for the clicking sound in techno music so we took our initials and named ourselves re_Click. We closed Diehard this past summer for 5 hours, played The Base Lounge, and have played many community dances and house parties.

Coree JamezUnderdog Productions,Freak2FreakRecords Complextro = 4x4 dubstep and electro,Techno
Based out of Halifax Nova Scotia, Coree Jamez incorporates elements of Electro, Techno and Raunchy Dubstep into his unique DJ style that gets any party Bumpin.
This crazy Caper is no stranger to the studio, producing his very own original and remix material, getting his very first remix signed with Freak2Freak Records.
His sound is dark, twisted and electric. He can slip without the slightest effort between Dubstep, electro and techno oriented sounds inspired by artists like Zedd, Far Too Loud, Skrillex, Feed Me, Elite Force, and the list continues….
With over ten years of flawless performances and now resident DJ for Underdog Productions, Coree Jamez continues to play his crazy Electro/Minimal Tech sound all over the East Coast and such festivals like EVOLVE!! and has opened up for amazing DJ’s like DJ Dan, Donald Glaude, DJ Heather and Nick Rockwell to name a few and also played alongside with some of the best DJ’s/Producers to ever come out of Hali….
This kid melts people’s faces to the floor every time he hits the decks with his hospitalized baselines and prodigious Technotronic bawdiness.
When you see him behind the decks, prepare to be discombobulated and flabbergasted!!!
Nohassle’s interest in electronic music goes back to early 2000. Becoming inspired by local artists such as, Wax, Ryan Seven, Gatringer, Carson and many more local artist. Nohassle took to the decks and created his own sound, ranging from silky smooth progressive house, all the way to dirty jump up drum and bass. No questions about it this guy plays it all…and plays it funky…Get ready to rock out because this foot moving technician is ready to throw down.
Elevenn Seraphim is a unique musical experience. It is a ferocious blend of dubstep, glitch and hiphop. Using the classic formula of DJ and turntables, Elevenn uses conscious darkness slathered on psyche shattering beats to save the masses from their bleak everyday lives. Seraphim is the result of a powerful individual finding the beauty in the struggle and using every watt to ravage every ear within range. Living on the edge in Victoria BC, she has been given a divine right to do this.
Elevenn is almost too much to deal with. As a DJ, she is personally responsible for ushering in the Dubstep scene in Calgary. Having found her soul in the sheer filth of Dubstep in 2006, while most other DJ’s were busy growing hair in strange new places, Elevenn made it her personal mandate to pwn the scene’s largest parties and give the kids something fresh. A skilled turntablist, with a true gift for reading the crowd’s energy, her sets leave people in a sweaty satisfied mess. Elevenn on the decks is a gothic dark empress with a soft touch and an iron fist. Dub chub may occur, be forewarned.
So this is 2011 and everybody better hold their ankles, cause the sky is about to bleed. The studio is up, the tables are spinning, the mic is armed and the volume is making doctors nervous. The album is coming. Seraphim is crafting a sound scape that even the Sandman couldn’t dream up. There are wet bibles and exploding pianos in the sample bank and that’s just the beginning. Elevenn is a talented producer and has been creating beats and honing her craft into excellence for the past few years. Keep your ears open as the process continues. But, oh no, don’t think that it stops there. Seraphim is taking this to your front door. Performing all over Pacific Northwest and internationally, know the name so you can stay up to date, I mean, who doesn’t want to have their face melted off?
Elevenn headlined alongside shows with other demigods such as: Caspa, Aquasky, Subvert, Benny Page, Excision, Ill-esha and DJ Swamp to name a few, and she’s rocked shows and festivals across the country, from Montreal to Victoria and everywhere in between. The experience is like no other. A new age is upon us. Hark, hear the Seraphim sing.

Ryan “Juice” hails from Canmore, Alberta – a small, majestic mountain town nestled in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Despite spending his formative years in the Wild Rose country, Ryan was born Gangster. That is, he has always, and continues to, draw inspiration from the grimiest of hood symphonies. Juice’s impromptu relocation to the West Coast, however, has slowly and methodically infused funk, electro, disco, swing, house and general womp wompiness into his eccentric palette. His fun party style and being up in animal costumes late at night has made Juice a household name in several Victoria party circles.
Although Ryan did not start fiddling with the greasy pots and pans until the fall of 2010, his first notable gig came just months later as he headlined the New Years Eve party at Banff, Alberta’s infamous Aroura nightclub. Playing a few more shows in Banff and Calgary and getting more and more into the Victoria scene, Juice has garnered a reputation for consistently bringing crowds to the dance floor and compelling them to have insane amounts of fun.

There are 4 beats in a bar, and 4 bars in a phrase, but that’s not the only phrase in music. Fraser Evans, better known as Phrase, fell in love with music from a young age and has always been interested in shaping a certain sound. Attraction to broken beats brought him to where he is in the electronic music scene today. With several years of mixing and many more of drumming and various other instruments under his belt you can always expect fine rhythms. Even at a young age Phrase steps up to the deck and impresses, every time.
The popularity of bass-heavy dance music is spreading like wildfire across the world, with many producers crafting their own styles of dubstep, grime and garage. In the humble city of Pittsburgh, PA DJ/producer Kastle has cultivated his own style of bass-heavy beats with a soulful twist reminiscent of classic Chicago house.
After teaching himself guitar and piano around the age of 12, Barrett Richards pooled his efforts towards electronic instrumentation about two years later. He began taking production as seriously as he did DJing during that time, and involved himself deep into the Northeast rave scene. It was no surprise that in time, though, personal growth and 14 years of production experience paired with a degree in audio engineering would breed a new sound. Kastle came to life at a pivotal moment after a big move from Boston back to his hometown of Pittsburgh in March 2009. After nearly a year of conceptualizing, he knew he was working on something special.
The name itself implies a fortress, a personal space that is used to cultivate a long-time love of hip-hop and R&B, old garage and 2-step and fuse it with the magnetizing effect that dubstep, garage and bass-heavy music has had on Barrett and, really, the various communities of underground electronic music. Readjusting to Steel City - a concentrated environment of blue collars and strong values - he wasted zero effort to get the project off the ground.
The studio and touring dichotomy of an artist’s life is a perfect yin & yang for Kastle in both his production and outlook. His professional experience as an engineer puts forth clean, crisp production, but his love for the party provides a playful bass that eats a room. Altogether, the wide varieties of vocals - both originals and sampled - are a key element to Kastle’s sound. “I grew up on hip hop and R&B, and sampling is considered an art form,” he says. “It’s becoming more and more fun to dig through old records and find obscure samples.” He cites another unexpected influence -legendary French filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard, who had once said that “it’s not where you take things from, it’s where you take them to.”
Straight out of the gates Kastle has garnished strong media attention from the likes of XLR8R, URB and Fact Magazine along with plays on BBC Radio 1.His fresh and unique production work has also seen him working with big labels such as Ministry of Sound and Scion A/V and he has lent his production chops to rework artists such as Example, Blu Mar Ten and The Glitch Mob. With so much accomplished in such a short time, it is clear that not even the sky is the limit for the future of Kastle.

Ryan Cain (ThatsDeep) sees music as a universal language, or the only language there is. Born with a natural melodic pulse in his body into a multicultural habitat filled with wide ranges of music, ThatsDeep believes in transcending barriers and remaining based to eliminate set conventions. Blending his background in Funk, Soul, R&B, and Hip Hop with his love of Purple Crunk and UK Funky, ThatsDeep finds it difficult to place himself within a genre, often referring his sound to future styles and bringing the sexy back.
Raised in one of Calgary’s most diverse neighbourhoods by equally eclectic parents, ThatsDeep grew up in the midst of funk filled backyard parties and multicultural friends. Where music of genres from all over the globe flowed, he managed to enhance his already developing melodic palate. Throwing his first show at the age of twelve, it was evident that he was an old soul, rich with rhythm.
After a brief stint in the fashion industry, ThatsDeep became an integral part in Calgary’s music and nightlife scene as he began promoting and throwing events and showcases for artists he felt passionate about. With a focus on unique venues, mind blowing sounds, and a sense of community, ThatsDeep opened the doors for many to the ever growing bass scene, despite challenges of introducing the new and unknown.
ThatsDeep made his return to the decks in 2009 with a weekly residency dubbed ‘Cold Chillin’ wednesdays at Bungalow Lounge in Calgary, followed by playing alongside TheRinseOut crew for their Friday night bass party, ‘Modern Math’. After making Victoria his new habitat, he has since been seen at Whitebird Lounge, The Reef Restaurant, Touch Lounge and Hush Nightclub.
ThatsDeep believes in striving for truth, knowledge, and using the power held deep within us to stay in the light. As the world sees more battles with the dark side, he sees music as an essential tool in obtaining these goals. His sexy, cosmic sounds hold an unpretentious welcome to anyone from anywhere as he invites you to join his journey into the deep end.

For Nathan Docksteader aka Natron the fascination and future inspiration for and from electronic music began in the late 90’s after hearing the cutting edge music being played and produced by Sasha & John Digweed, Dave Seaman, Nick Warren and others who were all at the head of the pack, leading the way and focused on the underground sounds of progressive house music.
As his interest and passion for electronic music grew he knew he had to find a way to share this intense emotion and calling with others. The medium of choice was obvious – In early 2003 Natron hit the decks and began DJing with a solid foundation of inspiration and experiences to draw from.
2004 was the year that opened up and further focused Nathan’s life as an artist more than almost any other. Meeting the Moreh brothers (a.k.a. Shiloh) truly helped shape and define the way Natron played music and gave him insights into how he listened to and what he heard in music and further cemented his already firm foundation that has thus enabled him to continually evolve and grow.
Fast forward now to 2011 and feeling incredibly inspired by rolling funky minimal grooves, Natron has taken his musical direction to more of an energetic fusion of organic techno and house, laden with percussion rolls, synth stabs and smooth basslines. With his inherent gift for track selection and programming Natron’s ability to move a dancefloor in one cohesive sweaty groove is unmatched.
With a full schedule of shows on his plate and Natron’s addition to the Sunset Labs team, 2011 is shaping up to be a breakthrough year for this committed artist!
PARALLELSNOW Magazine's critics pick for Toronto's best electronic group, Wild cat PR NYC, Marigold Productions Synth-pop,Electronic
Parallels is the moniker for electronic-pop front girl Holly Dodson, whose vocals combine the intense balladry of Kate Bush with the sweetness of Madonna’s true-blue era. A true front woman through and through, Dodson channels the magnetism of free-spirited predecessors like Stevie Nicks whilst weaving together sounds of static circuitry with lilting neu-Italo undertones into a patchwork of complex sonic stratums. Using a collection of vintage synthesizers and up tempo HI-NRG rhythm patterns, Parallels has been likened to the classic pop sentiments of Giorgio Moroder, New Order and Depeche Mode.
Recently playing SOLD OUT shows in Moscow, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto and Vancouver, Parallels have shared the stage with internationally-acclaimed artists such as Florence and the Machine, The Juan MacLean, Sebastian Tellier, Crystal Castles, Midnight Juggernauts, A-Trak, Broken Social Scene and Miami Horror, just to name a few. Since PARALLELS formation in 2008, they have been chosen “Critics Pick” for Torontos Best Electronic Band amongst notables Drake and Metric, Parallels is creating quite a stir with their various collaborations, including an official remix for English indie quartet Delphics track “This Momentary,” Parallels has indeed been taking the world by storm with “Find The Fire” off their debut LP Visionaries recently featured on the Kitsune Maison Compilation 8. After a whirlwind 20-date US tour in 2012, PARALLELS is set to release their highly-anticipated sophomore album, XII, on Marigold Records in June.

Rhys Closson dreams of music all day all night. He’s been into electronic music since grade 5. It started off with influences such as James Holden and Sasha. He used to spin dark dnb for a time period when he started mixing in 2005, but has mellowed out slightly. Today you will see him rocking energy driven techno, deep tech house, and smashing the hottest minimal tracks. He’s a bit miffed about the lack of this sound being played out in victoria, and wants to change that, one show at a time. Expect to hear the sound of the underground. He plans to move to Europe and get into the thriving scene in berlin or amsterdam. Festivals that he is dying to attend are Awakenings and Time Warp. In his record bag you will find bombs from labels such as Drumcode, Minus, and Mobilee to give you a taste. Rhys is also a graphic design graduate, which helps with marketing for the re_Click team.
Erik Posnikoff started listening to tech and prog at 19 and was hooked. Soon after he got into DJing, and learned the basics, but took a different road to explore other interests then came back at it a while later with Rhys. Names that played a big role in his desire for music are: Sasha, John Digweed, and Nick Warren to name a few. Often you may see Erik playing melodic bass driven tech house, thick chunky techno, and off the wall minimal bangers. He’s a great fit with Rhys in terms of sound, energy, and pushing Rhys into the studio. Erik loves production and has been hard at work honing his skills.
re_Click started from Erik and Rhys meeting regularly to mix and showcase new tracks they found for each other. After countless hours mixing at Rhys’s and a couple of house parties, they had achieved a chemistry that needed to be shared with the dance floor. A lucky break caught them their first gig at Diehard 7, which sprouted into many more gigs at The Sunset Room, Sonica, Base Lounge, Adventure Island, and Diehard 8. 2012 has already seen the release of re_Click’s first collaborative track with R.A.F.H. - Catalyst, which has got a great response, and is currently being remixed. re_Click hopes to find a record label to sign this to. A future of music is destined for this friendly duo.

My name is Andrew Sherry, I am 24 years of age. Music, and musical instruments have always been a huge part of my life. Electronic music has always fascinated me with it’s rapid evolution, and out of this world sounds, and capabilities.
In 2010 I was fortunate enough to have been apprenticed by my dear friend DJ Kenzie Clarke. I quickly caught the hang of it and was immediately addicted. I had my first gig within 4 months of stepping behind the tables at Lucky Bar, opening for BUSTA, and MR. Smith.
Over the past year I have played quite a few a gigs in Victoria, Vancouver, and Whistler. Some memorable gigs over the past year have been, The media club in Vancouver, 919 opening for LA Riots, holding down NYPD(Thursdays) at Lucky Bar for 3 months, Maple room for blackout at the Strath, OH GREAT Mondays with Wax, MR Smith vs the Shrew episodes at Lucky Bar on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
From Disco, Breaks, Electro, House, Dubstep and DNB I love it all and have a knack for knowing what the crowed wants to hear. You can expect to keep your feet moving, head banging and have the urge to want more.
My future plans for djing are to continue to enjoy it, and learn. I would like to increase the amount of shows that I play out of town, and will be starting to take over Friday Evenings, and Saturday Evenings at Lucky Bar with Chris Longshanks.

Mesmerizing, passionate and stunning are just a few words that describe this hot talent in the house & electro DJ scene. Growing up with music was an important part of her life, she was able to truly appreciate the many avenues and genres. Playing the piano and having those classically trained roots contributed to her self-taught ability of picking up precise skills behind the decks.
Her natural ear for sounds makes djing & production in the studio perfect playgrounds for her creative and electrifying mixing skills. Exceeding expectations every performance, she has been described as one of the hardest working DJs in Canada. So it’s no surprise that Miss DJ Laela has become one of the fastest growing and highly sought after female DJs in the country. She holds many residencies around Western Canada including Whistler, Vancouver and Victoria nights, regular Revelstoke appearances, along with Banff and Calgary shows in AB.
Miss DJ Laela’s talents go far beyond her ability to lay down tracks, as she has been known to surprise the crowd by throwing in her alluring ‘Live Vocals’ over her tracks. Depending on the mood and desire of the crowd, you may catch her on the microphone and you will be amazed on a whole other level!! Her style reflects the sexiest, dirtiest house & electro beats in the club, so expect the dancefloors to be filled from start to end of the show.
She has supported MSTRKRFT, Sam La More (MOS Australia) and played alongside the likes of The Stafford Brothers (MOS Australia, Fox8 TV) and most recently Jamie Vale on a Red Bull Western Canada Tour. She also took the city of Victoria by storm on the main stage/venues at the 2009 & 2010 VEMF (Victoria Electronic Music Festivals), an annual summer festival with headliners DJ Dan, Donald Glaude and Starkillers to name a few. Between the 2010 Winter Olympics/Paralympics she performed in Vancouver & Whistler playing some of the hottest venues including Barcelona (Vancouver’s #1 voted Nightclub VNA 2010) and Gorgomish Afterhours, it was one of her favorite and most memorable tour experiences so far.
With each performance her domino effect occurs, making it’s way from venue to venue leaving one thing in common…a truly positive lasting impression! The result is her bookings branching out further away each time in higher demand. Networking at the highest level whenever and where ever she is has become her signature promoting herself as an artist. Recent exposure into the US market gained her representation on the talent roster of THUMP SOCIETY out of NYC, scouted by Reflex the agency owner and Resident DJ to Red Bull NYC. In Canada she’s signed with Symbiant Artist Management based out of Vancouver/Victoria BC.
Miss DJ Laela illuminates the decks, and should not to be missed if you have the opportunity to see her play. We are sure to see a lot more of this beautiful and talented DJ in the near future.

Shiva Yam Hologram is a Vancouver Islander that started djing around three years ago, when he moved to Vancouver. His first experience with dance music was early 2000 island raves, where breakbeats were still king. Initially drawn to downtempo and psytrance, he eventually embraced all forms of electronica. His dj sets now sway somewhere between funky minimal, smooth house, full-on or midtempo ...psytrance, ambient soundscapes, future bass, glitchstep, psybient/psydub, downtempo groove..funkidelic breaks, jazz, comedy, peanut butter and jelly….
He’s been playing at Entheos Gathering for the past two years, runs a stage at Soundclash Of The Titans, and recently been playing in Vancouver, Nelson, Saltspring Island, Salmon Arm, and at the Sunset Room.
Starkillers is best known for his signature blend of catchy vocals, booming bass lines and genre-defying range. From New York to Japan, Starkillers has had a massive impact on the world of electronica. The Las Vegas native is best known as the man behind the MASSIVE hits Discoteka & Scream. Discoteka was the very first track released under his Starkillers alias and lived at the top of the Billboard Dance and Beatport sales charts, named an “Essential Selection” on Pete Tong’s BBC1 radio show, nominated for best underground track at the IDMAs, and supported by almost every major DJ out there. But the track’s success simply encouraged the hard working producer to get his ass back into the studio and create a world of music his friends and fans have come to recognize him for.
Starkillers has an impressive list of musical accomplishments: he runs the record label Terratraxx that he started in 2002, has produced a ton of original productions and done an equally impressive number of high profile remixes. Done both in his own name and under pseudonyms such as Starkillers, Killers & Rockers, Detroit Millionaires and his own real name Nick Terranova. His hits include remixes of Armand Van Helden, iiO, The D.O.N.S Robbie Rivera, Paul Oakenfold, Dj Dan,Dj Chus, Space Cowboy, Carmen Electra, Paul Van Dyke, Shinny Toy Guns, Dj Rap, Ida Corr, Nadia Ali, And many more.
Capping out the end of the year in 2009 and moving into 2010 Starkillers put up 2 of the top 25 best selling tracks on Beatport for 2009, with a #1 Spot for Starkillers vs Arman Van Helden “The funk Phenomena” and a # 3 spot with Starkillers “Bitch assTrick”, both charted on the top 25 at 15 and 25 and were hailed as instant classics in the dance music scene. Putting forth this kind of effort and throwing down this kind of heat, Starkillers has become one of the most sought after producers in the game. So look out for his name and brand cause chances are he will be in your city soon.

Ive played twice at carrington music festival and have made a few trips to Tofino to play at some bars there, also any north island rave you can normally count me to be mixing at some point in the night.
Im fairly versatile in my style, If you check out my soundcloud ive made a small mix with just Nu-swing style music, but I normally play dubstep, electro house, glitch hop, and add a dash of funk in there
oh and DnB cant forget about DnB haha
So I would love it if you considered me to represent the north island for you!
Chord’s philosophy is simple: play good music. His style flows through deep dub and minimal to house and techno — a slow burn of building rhythms accelerating into an intoxicating blend.

I specialize in UK Bass music such as dubstep, garage, liquid funk, drum & bass. I am the founder of a music collective (Outersphere Recordings) that has the primary goal of building community in Victoria centered around dance music, primarily dubstep and drum & bass, as well as to positively support all existing music collectives in the city. I run two radio shows every week including one broadcasting out of the UK, and one from the University of Victoria (beginning July 9th). I have a large amount of instrumental music experience and my obsession is also my career choice. I am finishing my last six courses for a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Music, studying with some leading music technology researchers at the University of Victoria. I am also the founder and current president of the Computer Music Course Union at the university and intend on entering a Masters program in this field in the fall of 2012. I began performing primarily as a DJ this year as an opening act for Whitebird Events (www.whitebirdlifestyle.com), including “Propa Tingz” and “Grasp the Erro” at Hush Nightclub. Following the event, I was featured in a review by Victoria’s bass music blogger “Dub Selekta” (www.dubselekta.com). In November 2010, I was booked to provide music for a Whistler, BC snowboard company named Voleurz to support their promotional video tour (www.voleurz.ca). This event took place at Sugar Nightclub and was a highly successful. The included artist photos depict this event. The company later invited me to play music for another one of their events in Whistler BC, based on the success in Victoria, but I was unable to make it due to academic commitments. Since these events, I have filled the role as an in-house DJ at Whitebird Lounge, substituting for Sub|Division’s DJ Rhythmicon on several occasions. I have also performed as a DJ at many more informal events. References are available for all or any previous events upon request. I have been told to encourage promoters to contact these references as a result of my performances.

From growing up in a musical family Hindle was introduced to music at very young age. “ I always found myself analyzing different beats and rhythms and found myself looking for a feeling in music”.
Hindle was introduced into the electronic scene Through his parents at a young age. As Hindle started to discover the sensations of the scene he stumbled upon three passionate dj’s Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto and Armin Van Buuren. “Their sound was truly like no other and moved me in way like no other”. “Their sound inspired me to become something great”. From being touched so deeply Hindle devolped a desire, a desire
to touch people like how he has been touched, to inspire people to be positive, and to always move forward.

As Hindle got more and more into djing he started moving towards house music and made his signature! “I loved how groovy and positive it is, it just has so much flavour”
“My objective is to play that groovy vibe but incorporate that touching desire to inspire people and make them feel good”. “Feeling good is the best thing you can do for yourself. “A Successful performance in my eyes, is when everyone leaves happy!”

Craze’s life is a legacy of rags to riches, geek to chic, no-name to world fame. He never had it easy – from fleeing battle in Nicaragua at the age of 3 to a geeky adolescence to Hurricane Andrew hitting Miami in 1992 – nor did have ever have any coattails to ride; his is a story that’s an uphill battle, but a story that ends right at the top. “My mom always taught me I could do anything I put my mind to. So when she asked what I wanted to do with my turntables, I told her, ‘Be the best DJ in the world,’” Craze casually laughs. And that he proved – 3 times at the DMC World Championships, an unprecedented record, and a title that no other solo DJ has yet to match. While Craze is regarded internationally and unquestionably as one of the best scratch DJs in the world, it’s still astonishing to see his overwhelming number of titles on paper: Craze has won first place for the USA DMC Championships in 1998, World ITF Scratch Off Championships in 1998, ITF Western Hemisphere Scratch Off Championships (1998, ‘99), Winter Music Conference Scratch Off Champion (1996, ‘97, ‘98, ‘99), East Coast DMC Championships (1997), East Coast Rap Sheet Championships (1996) and Zulu National Championships (1995, ‘96), to name but a few. Additionally, DJ Craze claimed 2nd place in the first DMC Team Championship with his Allies’ crew (which included fellow champions A-Trak and Infamous) in 1999 – and then in 2000, the Allies’ won the Team Championship title, taking it from the previous year’s winners the Scratch Perverts.
“I won the DMC’s when I was 20. I joined the Regionals, won that, Nationals, won that, and then won the Worlds. And I took it from A-Trak – that’s right! But he was only like 15 when I beat him. I was still scared. Then in that year, in ‘98 when I beat A-Trak in the [DMC] Worlds, I didn’t wanna battle no more and I thought he’d be the icing on the cake, so instead we formed the Allies and we kicked everybody’s butt. “ – Craze
On top of his untouchable turntablist skills and scratch champion showmanship, the world has also recognised that Craze is a second to none club DJ – he has toured the globe over, from Jamaica to Australia to Japan to Iceland to France to the country he was born, Nicaragua. All DJing aside, Craze is also a world- renowned producer, releasing wildly successful drum’n'bass records with labels such as Cartel Recordings, Breakbeat Kaos, and C.I.A and other hip hop inspired productions with the likes of DMC Records, Ninja Tune Records, OM Records and K7 Records. It’s the respect from both DJs and audiences alike that has paved Craze’s seamless move between hip hop and turntablism to drum’n'bass – both serious subzero clique/cult scenes the globe over demanding much of any artist trying to peddle their wares worldwide; to what now sounds like club-style Miami bass, formed with the technical love of hip hop with clean cuts and ridiculously dextrous scratching, but a mix up of straight up rap, ghettotech, raw booty house, old-school electro, Baltimore/Miami bass crossover and sweaty lo-end dancefloor music, making it all but impossible to keep still. This is Craze – the man who arguably defined his hometown Miami turntablism scene, only to return now to reinvent this take on the Miami sound; a neo-genre of his own special blend of every which way club codes from the ghosts of discos past, present and future.

My name is Carson and I come from Edmonton, Alberta where I started to make Electronic music when I was 11. Since then I have had multiple songs released and many Mixes created.
Over the past years I have grown to become more of a Producer and Content Manager for labels and records. I am currently the Assistant Content Manager for Monstercat Media. Currently I help the Mau5trap Podcast with their promotion as an Assistant Podcast Producer. I also have been in contact with Joel (DeadMau5) for future ideas about the Mau5trap label its self. I have also been in contect with Big Beat Records (OWSLA) about becoming their Content Manager for 2014. And lastly I have been taken under the wing of Sweet Shop Records to help create my own label I created called ByTz Records.
Founded in Sun Peaks, British Columbia in 2011, Two half robot minds collided, one as a student, one as a teacher, to create an earthquake-like energy. D-FUNKT, (Koric) holding 25+ years of musical experience of all kinds, shared the art of mixing music digitally with newcomer DJ CRASCOURSE (Lange). Shortly after passing on the skill of mixing and partyrocking, D-FUNKT & CRASHCOURSE as a duo, began playing live dj events together. It wasn’t before long that the energy created by these two started becoming more and more ridiculous and entertaining. After multiple shows played together, a few beers, and a couple smashed ideas, “Perv ‘Stache” was born. “It’s always nice to see the DJ’s dancing as hard as the party people on the dancefloor..” is something that’s said and appreciated about Perv ‘Stache. These two electronically influenced men are here to deliver straight goods, laughs, witty punchlines, and so much bass it would make any fisherman jealous. If your opportunity comes up to party with these two sleeze machines, grab them a drink, flash them a smile and a high five…you’ll be friends forever. You might even get to go for a ride in their van after the show…..
Started his career as a DJ 2 years ago in the city of Victoria BC. After months of saving money he finally bought his first dj set for 800 dllrs in used victoria. This set included 1 denon cdj dns1000, 1 stanton cdj c324 1 two-channel stanton mixer.
With no headphones and no speakers the journey started…
Due to monetary issues Dj Alegro had to use an rca cable to plug his mixer into his tv. And due to his passion for bass he blew up the tv speakers….
However, about 10 days after the tv incident his sister gave him his first pair of headphones as a birthday gift and he received a pair of speakers from his parents.
Finally the Set up was complete.
After 1 month of practicing he had his first gig. A 100 people private party. After this day, he knew what he wanted to do with the rest of his life.
Making people dance is not just satisfactory for the fact that you are doing your job right. It is satisfactory because YOU KNOW that your personal problems are not an issue at the moment and the same thing happens with your audience.
It does not matter what your going through at that point in your life, when the music starts the sadness stops.
After a couple gigs hard-work started to pay off and after a couple months the cdjs 900 and the cdm 800 from pioneer were in my bedroom.
When 2011 started i realized that i do not want to be only a DJ i want to become a producer of my own work and that is why i have moved to Mexico City where i will be attending to a Music University where they teach you all about producing.
I attended VEMF last year and unfortunately i was not on time to submit an application form. I still had a great time and this year i hope i can be a part of it.
