I specialize in UK Bass music such as dubstep, garage, liquid funk, drum & bass. I am the founder of a music collective (Outersphere Recordings) that has the primary goal of building community in Victoria centered around dance music, primarily dubstep and drum & bass, as well as to positively support all existing music collectives in the city. I run two radio shows every week including one broadcasting out of the UK, and one from the University of Victoria (beginning July 9th).
I have a large amount of instrumental music experience and my obsession is also my career choice. I am finishing my last six courses for a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Music, studying with some leading music technology researchers at the University of Victoria. I am the founder and current president of the Computer Music Course Union at the university intend on entering a Masters program in this field in the fall of 2012.
I began performing primarily as a DJ this year as an opening act for Whitebird events, including “Propa Tingz” and “Grasp the Erro” at Hush Nightclub. Following the event, I was featured in a review by Victoria’s bass music blogger “Dub Selekta” (www.dubselekta.com). In November 2010, I was booked to provide music for a Whistler, BC snowboard company named Voleurz to support their promotional video tour (www.voleurz.ca). This event took place at Sugar Nightclub and was a highly successful. The included artist photos depict this event.
Since these events, I have filled the role as an in-house DJ at Whitebird Lounge, substituting for Sub|Division’s DJ Rhythmicon on several occasions. I have also performed as a DJ at many more informal events.
References are available for all or any previous events upon request. I have been told to encourage promoters to contact these references as a result of my performances.
“I’ve been serious about music since I was a kid.” Says Jeff Wilson, who is now known as EviCtion; a renegade electronic musician. “I used to listen to my mom’s old vinyl and play Jimi Hendrix’s Are you Experienced? over and over”
When Jeff Wilson was in his funk/rock band Traffic Jam, fans could find him playing lead guitar and sporting a big curly afro. “I started playing guitar in junior high and took it very seriously. When I was 15 I was playing in the local bar circuit. My parents used to drop me us off an pick us up at 2am!” His first professional release was an independently produced CD titled Traffic Jam : Funkacoholics Anonymous, and at the age of only 16 his music could be found in Surf Films that graced the screens at Sundance.
After attending Yamaha School of Music in Toronto, Jeff taught guitar at the Atlantica School of Music in Saint John. After Graduating high school, Jeff then decided to attend St. Francis Xavier University to study jazz guitar full time. This is where his musical creativity morphed into what is now EviCtion.
Starting as a small time DJ, EviCtion’s productions soon propelled him into becoming a frontrunner in the east coast DJ scene. His unique style and ear for music made it easy for EviCtion to stand out among an ever-growing east coast DJ market. His punk attitude and aggressive approaches to making music has helped EviCtion become the east coasts most in demand producer/DJ. Selling out shows of 2200+ people across the east, thousands of screaming fans are a testament to EviCtion’s talent and originality.
After finding his sound, which he describes as “Indie, Techno, and Electro”, EviCtion has played every major concert and festival in the east. EviCtion has been asked to share the stage with electro heavy weights Bloody Beetroots, Felguk, Lazy Rich, and Vandalism, but he doesn’t stop there. He has also performed with Team Canada DJ’s three times in the last two years and played with Eh! Team Dj Ilo along with Scratch from the legendary Roots. EviCtion has shown that his style is both versatile and marketable.
EviCtion’s productions have gained international recognition, thanks to his first releases on Audio Planet Recordings. Because of his production chops, he was a finalist in the 2010 Lollapalooza remix competition, which allowed him to remix for Tiga. Thanks to SICK SLAUGHTERHOUSE recordings, his much anticipated HAMMER EP featuring A Girl and A Gun is set to release at the beginning of 2011 with major remixers like The Mastertrons (Dim Mak), B.Rich (Party Like Us), Monolythe (Big Alliance), and Beatport featured artist Jeff T. His new tracks and remixes have been creating a lot of buzz in the blogosphere scene and a simple Google search can find his tracks on blogs from around the world.
2011 is the year of EviCtion. With two EP releases due for January and his first tour of Quebec planned for February, the rest of Canada waits to host an EviCtion party at their club. Eviction is becoming Canada’s secret weapon.
He has just been nominated for a 2012 Pioneer Stylus SpinFest Award for the “DJ Remix of the Year” category picked by none other than Deadmau5, A-Trak, The Weekend & Kardinal Offishall.

The Mazeguider has been an iconic figure in Vancouver’s tribal dance underground for nearly 15 years, playing festivals & events throughout Vancouver, B.C., and the Pacific Northwest. With sets that can take people out to the edge of time and awareness, the Mazeguider’s undeniable signature style reflects the sophistication of a music performer of nearly two decades.
As Bruce Lee famously taught how “emotional content” is everything, this description could be applied to the Mazeguider’s mixes. No fluff here. Only the cream of those pushing the edges outwards, mapping the uncharted territories of new electronic dance music that invites & compels us to feel something brand new and unmistakably delicious in our emotions, minds and bodies.
Currently, the Mazeguider’s dancefloor focus plays in the realms of Glitchhop, Glitchstep, Crunk & Midtempo Breaks. However, he maintains a strong hand in Techno, Tech-House, ElectroHouse, Breaks & Progressive, as well as a large range of Downtempo, and can throw down amply in any of these styles.
He has played festivals such as Entheos, Intention, Shambhala, the Oracle Gatherings, Earthdance, as well as events by Perception, Beats Without Borders, Beleaf, Playground and more. He has shared the stage with fine artists, such as Gaudi, Vibesquad, Cheb I Sabbah, Adham Shaikh, Bluetech, Noah Pred, Makyo, Souls of Mischief, and many more. As a speaker on Transformational Festivals he has presented at TEDxVancouver, Hollyhock, Entheos, Beloved, Symbiosis, Shambhala Festival, and more.
To be at the helm of the big stereo, transmitting the frequencies, while the tribe gathers in the time-honoured rituals of celebration, is a privileged place to hold. Each set represents a constantly renewed possibility for the community gathered to rekindle our ecstasy, remember our connectedness and rejuvenate our life-forces. And then, sometimes, it’s just about having the right music for the occasion. Whichever way it goes down, the Mazeguider brings a special, alchemical offering to the mix that is the guarantee of a journey to remember…
It all began late summer of 2007 in 100 Mile House BC when Tyler arrived at what he assumed would be a normal house party. But when he saw a friend manipulating mp3’s with a little device filled by confusing buttons and sliders, he had to learn more. Tyler later bought that very device and started manipulating mp3’s himself. During this time, his friend began showing him the joys of vinyls spinning on turntables, and better music. Then… It happened… That moment where his life was taken over. Forever changed. What did it? Tyler had never seen or experienced anything like it. Shambhala Music Festival 2008 It was the turning point where a little bedroom hobby became his passion. Tyler was introduced to some amazing people who were willing to let some unknown DJ play music for the masses. After numerous Raves and clubs throughout the Okanagan, Tyler got his first weekly residency in Kamloops BC. Thirsty for more and ready for the next step, Tyler packed his bags and set off for Vancouver. Accepted into this new city with open arms, he surrounded himself with the right people and learned from the best. Quickly gaining the approval from some of Vancouver’s most well respected veterans, Tyler soon emerged as one the best and freshest new faces in Vancouver’s underground scene. With a mature taste in music, not often found in a young DJ, and after only living in Vancouver for a year, Tyler earned himself a residency for HOLLYWOOD FRIDAYS (SystemSound) at the infamous Lotus Sound Lounge (RIP). This led to playing alongside Vancouver’s best locals, as well as opening for international talents James Talk, J. Phlip, Dale Anderson, and Lazy Rich.
Bromance is the euphoric result of DJ Sounds mixed with Live Drums. DJ All Good, a regular finalist at the National DMC’s, brings the scratches, samples, and blends to provide the melodies, while Brodie Ketelsen, Drummer of Vancouver Island’s party pumping ska band The Kiltlifters, provides the rhythmic beats to the Drumless tracks of Hip Hop, Rock, Reggae, and Dance. For a unique performance of non-stop, beat bumping turntable mixes, check out the Bromance
Whether he’s opening for international superstars like Tipper, Bassnectar and the Freestylers; rocking a headlining slot at an outdoor party or providing backdrop beats in a local lounge, Generic is the kind of DJ who fully brings it, whatever the gig. His combination of technical skills (the guy has taken several Vancouver Island DJ competition titles), impeccable ear for crowd-rocking tunes and a fun-loving attitude makes Generic (nee Cole Magnusson) one of the Island’s most sough-after disc jockeys. Expect one of his sets to be chock-a-block with broken beats, glitch hop, drum and bass and dubstep—including some of his own tracks, edits and remixes—with plenty of cutting and scratching thrown in for good measure. With skills like that, it’s no surprise this 10-year vet behind the decks rarely goes a weekend without dropping a set
Using strange techniques and savage track selection, Mr. Majestic’s sets are often a bizarre event, resulting in complete mayhem. He’s been pinned as one to watch in the near future showcasing interesting mixes and swaps between genres in his unpredictable sets.
with 3 years of experience on the tables, Mr Majestic is a very technical Dj that throws down a combination of Electro, Dubstep and Disco in an manner that can only be described as “Devastating”. With the intentions of mass destruction to dance-floors everywhere, there’s no stopping Mr. Majestic’s onslaught for global domination
The past year for Calex has been a time for refinement of his unique sound. The vibe that Calex brings to any party is not found amongst many Vancouver DJ’s; he takes elements of house, techno, progressive and tech-house to weave his own blend of sonic destruction. While his love affair with electronic music started only 6 years ago, he has immersed himself as few have. This has led to Calex playing alongside the best that western Canada has to offer, including Shiloh, AFK and Joel Armstrong. Spending 14 months overseas Calex was able to learn the fine art of floor shattering as he held down a twice-weekly residency. These experiences, his consistently evolving sound and the need to spread his passion with the audience has made Calex popular around the globe amongst his peers and the dancers.

For the past 15 years, Canadian artist Danuel Tate has been a key player in a number of celebrated musical acts. He released a few records with Tyger Dhula on Phatt Phunk (1998) and Itiswhatitis Recordings (2006), as his impressive work as keyboard player and pianist for Cobblestone Jazz and The Modern Deep Left Quartet was racking up accolades on the international front. His solo compositions first surfaced in 2007 on Wagon Repair, which released his debut album, Mexican Hotbox, three years later. On it, Tate revisits ‘30s jazz and swing with an intensely crafted game of electronic tempo variations. His signature sound leans heavily toward acid jazz and resolutely modern house, and his biggest distinction remains his knack for improvisation and musical experimentation.
d-Set first got into electronic dance music in early 1998, being so drawn in by this sound he needed to be a part of it and purchased his first set of turntables by summer. His love for big basslines and skippy beats attached his interests to this genre they were calling speed garage. As one of the original and rare Garage DJs on Vancouver Island d-Set has been playing clubs, music festivals, and parties all over western Canada for the last 13 years. He has been producing his own music now since 2007 and with a few years of production behind him now you are sure to hear a number of d-Set originals during his sets. It’s always a treat to experience how his energy makes an entire dance floor go off when he steps up in front of a crowd. He has some serious skills when it comes to track selection and reading a crowd! Super sweet ...and melodic vocals mixed with an undeniable dirty bassline. Over the years Brent has had the pleasure of open for names like Dig-Dug, Soulfix, Czech, Will Bailey, Mighty Fools, Donald Glaude, DJ Dan, and Stupid Fresh. He is an island favourite who is not to be missed.
The Wobble Skankz, aka Lance Blake and Conrad Funk, reunite to get you on the dancefloor, not giving a fuck! These two talented producer/DJs will be mixing their own bangers with fresh new tracks to put on a high-energy, floor shaking set. They are always stoked to be playing for such an amazing group of party people.
Christoph Maitland has been all of an award winning DJ, popular club resident and eclectic producer. Nocturnal’s Matt Darey, BBC Radio 1’s Annie Nightengale and Christopher Lawrence have all played his tracks. His collaboration with Toby Emerson and Veela was a 2011 hit and is currently featured as the demo song for Image Line’s FL Studio 10. Christoph’s signature sound features house evolving into elements of electro, prog and breaks. A showstopping performer and technical whiz, Christoph makes the term dance music, live up to it’s name.
Mesmerizing, passionate and stunning are just a few words that describe this hot talent in the Canadian DJ scene. Growing up with music was an important part of her life, she was able to truly appreciate the many avenues and genres. Playing the piano and having those classically trained roots contributed to her self-taught ability of picking up precise skills behind the decks.
Her natural ear for sounds makes djing & production in the studio perfect playgrounds for her creative and electrifying mixing skills. Exceeding expectations every performance, she has been described as one of the hardest working DJs in Canada. So it’s no surprise that DJ Laela has become one of the fastest growing and highly sought after female DJs in the country. She holds many residencies around Western Canada including Whistler, Vancouver and Victoria nights, regular Revelstoke appearances, along with Banff and Calgary shows in AB.
DJ Laela’s talents go far beyond her ability to lay down tracks, as she has been known to surprise the crowd by throwing in her alluring ‘Live Vocals’ over her tracks. Depending on the mood and desire of the crowd, you may catch her on the microphone and you will be amazed on a whole other level!! Her style reflects the sexiest, dirtiest house & electro beats in the club, so expect the dancefloors to be filled from start to end of the show.
She has supported MSTRKRFT, Sam La More (MOS Australia) and played alongside the likes of The Stafford Brothers (MOS Australia, Fox8 TV) and most recently Jamie Vale on a Red Bull Western Canada Tour. She has also played previous years at main stage & venues at the 2009 & 2010 VEMF. Between the 2010 Winter Olympics/Paralympics she performed in Vancouver & Whistler playing some of the hottest venues including Barcelona (Vancouver’s #1 voted Nightclub VNA 2010) and Gorgomish Afterhours, it was one of her favorite and most memorable tour experiences so far.
With each performance her domino effect occurs, making it’s way from venue to venue leaving one thing in common…a truly positive lasting impression! The result is her bookings branching out further away each time in higher demand. Networking at the highest level whenever and where ever she is has become her signature promoting herself as an artist. Recent exposure into the US market gained her representation on the talent roster of THUMP SOCIETY out of NYC, scouted by Reflex the agency owner and Resident DJ to Red Bull NYC. In Canada she’s signed with Symbiant Artist Management based out of Vancouver. She carries her own branding “Party Beats” that has really started making a mark across the country, taking this amazing female DJ coast to coast from Victoria to Halifax. The most recent affiliation added to her expanding roster is being signed to the global clubbing brand “Sunglasses at Night”. A recognized brand that holds residencies internationally including places like Ibiza.
DJ Laela illuminates the decks, and should not to be missed if you have the opportunity to see her play. Already this summer she has played SYNC Festival and will be gracing the stages in Kelowna for the Sexy Sounds Festival. We are definitely sure to see a lot more of this beautiful and talented DJ in the near future.
DJ WOOD made his name in BC’s drum’n'bass scene, DJing at some of Vancouver Island’s earliest raves and promoting Victoria’s first d’n'b club nights, including debut appearences by old-timers like DJ Phantasy and Kenny Ken. Re-locating to Vancouver in 1999, Wood went on to host “Solar Bass”, HQ Communications’ radio show on Planet Aaj 96.1. He also held a residency at HQ’s “Tecknowledgy” club night where he supported world-class talent like Ray Keith, DJ SS and Bad Company.
After Solar Bass went off air, Wood & partners Link, Silence & Kotekan started their own radio show on the same station. “Sunday Sessions” gained a wide listenership throughout the lower mainland & Vancouver Island, and eventually spawned a club night of the same name at Sonar, Vancouver’s premier night spot at the time.
In addition to Sunday Sessions, Wood was also a resident DJ for “Zwack!” Fridays at Unit 20, an open-format club night where breaks, d’n'b and hip hop ruled the roost. It was here that Wood first made contact with his future collaborator DJ Soo, an aspiring turntablist & fellow drum’n'bass DJ. In agreeance that the drum’n'bass scene had grown stale and unimaginative, the duo launched a new club night at The Met Pub, “Bangers ‘n’ Mash”, that would allow them to explore their full range of musical taste.
After the cancellation of Bangers’n'Mash in late 2004, DJ Wood & DJ Soo were ready to step their game up to the next level. At a New Year’s Eve party called “Mangladesh”, the duo played together on 4 turntables, surprising even the most jaded partiers with their genre & tempo defying set. This set, re-recorded at Wood’s apartment later that month, became the duo’s debut mixtape and has gone on to become a world-wide cult classic. The duo have gone on to play venues all over Canada and support a wide variety of international acts including Stanton Warriors, Bassnectar, South Rakkas Crew and DJ Z-Trip.
The year 2005 saw the launch of Wood’s production career. Spurned by the success of their club nights & parties, local breakbeat crew TwentyHz Music were set to launch their record label. For their debut single, head-honcho DJ Soda chose the tune he had been opening his sets with for the past year - “Bun Dem” by DJ Wood. Wood went on to produce another track for the label, 2006’s “Poppa Large”. His third release, 2007’s “Eye No”, came out on the debut single for the UK ‘Nu Funk’ label Goodgroove Recordings. More releases for the now globally reknowned Goodgroove have ensued, along with a slot at the Canadian debut of their world wide Nu Funk club night “Regrooved”.
More recently, Wood has helped establish Super Happy Dance Deejays, a crew of veteran DJs who are making waves in Vancouver’s after hours scene. On the production front, Wood’s first digital release has come in the form of a remix for Ohio based artist Ruckus Roboticus, released March 2010 on the Dance Or Die label. Continuing his partnership with DJ Soo and as a solo artist, this seasoned performer shows no signs of slowing down!
Despite having only made music for five years, Calgary’s Bleach Fiend has managed to switch genres no less than three times. “At first it was ambient, Boards of Canada stuff,” he recalls. “I did that for a while. And then it turned into acid house, when I put out Cosmonaut in late 2010… but now I have no idea what genre my kind of music is.”
Mr. Class, Bleach Fiend’s 2012 EP, does a good job of complimenting that statement. Including influence from old-school house, modern-day techno, and bizarrely, left field hip-hop, the record showcases Bleach Fiend at his most schizophrenic. This inability to conform seems to work to his advantage, allowing for music that appeals to the living room listener as well as to the more open-minded DJ.
DJ Plan has been collecting records since age 6 and djing since 2001, and has played hundreds of shows in Victoria, Vancouver and Toronto. He currently hosts ‘Plan Your Sunday’ at Subeez in Vancouver. DJ Plans style is a blend of genres including hip hop, club, dancehall, rock and house music with a bent towards baltimore and ghetto tech. He loves to party and is equally at home behind the decks at a wedding, nightclub or warehouse party…...
Recently , Plan has added video mixing to his repertoire. Check out his blog Degenerate Planet and his monthly mixtape series on Podomatic….
NEIGHBOUR….. Matt has lived and breathed music since he busted out the cradle. At age 5 he would cajole strangers with his beloved ukulele, progressing onto guitar and bass as time went on. After learning to play saxophones in the jazz band and plying his trade as a music teacher throughout high school, he moved on to Mount Royal College where he took part in the Jazz Studies program on guitar. Through it all, Matt developed his recording skills alongside his instruments, learning on the classic four-track Tascam and moving onto serious multitracking and computer sequencing. A strong love for Funk, Soul, and Disco developed as he worked at local record stores and sure enough, these elements are ever present in his Groove-Drenched productions. These days, when he’s not producing or teaching music for Home Breakin’ Records, he spends his time playing gigs around town with various bands, DJing, and digging for the next break to transform into Funky Black Gold.
DJ TREVER….. Straight from tha hood… Gordonhood Victoria that is! DJ Trever has been droppin’ science for many many moons now. Currently you can hear him play Saturday at Touch in the heart of Victoria. Trever plays the Funkiest Old Skool Party Jams to make you bump and grind, as well as creating some of the Dopest Mixes on fly. He scratches like a he don’t care n’ definitely turns a party out! He’s played along side many great DJ’s: Afrika Bambaattaa, Mark Farina, David Alvarado, Thomas Michael, Malente, Atomic Hooligan, Donald Glaude, Mat the Alien, Czech, and Miss Moneypenny. He’s toured across New Zealand a couple times, played in Mexico, blasted in Amsterdam, got lost in Bermuda, spanked in Fiji, and crushed it in Detroit… Bottom line is…this DJ will “ROCK YA PARTY”!!
I am a DJ/Producer from Calgary, Alberta Canada. I have been DJing since 2002 and have been producing since 2008. I have been blessed enough to have had the chance to hold my own residencies at clubs within the city over the years. I have also been given some wonderful opportunities to warm-up for such acts as Kaskade, Laidback Luke, Mark Farina, Nick Warren, Andy Moor and Chromeo amongst others.
I first discovered my serious passion for music while dancing like Michael Jackson in my parents living room as a kid! It was so much fun and although I may not have fully understood it at the time, it was then that I realized music was the one thing in my life that created that feeling of connection with who I truly am. It would be a number of years later till I got decks but now looking back at the course of events that led up to me starting to DJ I can see how it all fits together perfectly.
I am currently attending Stylus College in New Westminster, BC for music production so keep your ears open for my newest productions and mixes.

Currently residing in Victoria, British Columbia, Antagonist is bringing a fresh take on the bass music scene, on both local and international scales. With a passion for sound design, he drives forth a unique blend of soft melodic textures and wild savage basslines like a tour de force. Now in his sophomore year as a producer, he has accumulated releases on multiple record labels, established a strong online fanbase, and gotten rotations and accolades from many of his peers and influences, including Excision, Numbernin6, DJ Sashwat, Mark Instinct, Cottonmouth, and many more.
Antagonist began his career in 2007 as a hip-hop artist, both producing for hire and to accompany his own lyrics. His prior knowledge in rhythm guitar and thrash metal found Antagonist’s productions influenced strongly by hostile tones and dark melodies. The ensuing search for a more aggressive sound lead him to leave ‘traditional’ hip-hop behind and focus on dubstep - which has recently expanded to include drum and bass, glitch hop, moombahton, and various other genres of ‘bass music’. His focus on combining the hard-hitting beats from rap music and the aggressive tones in metal, while adding hints of classical music and middle eastern flavours, are the driving force behind Antagonist’s unique sound.
With a well-established skillset in the studio, Antagonist is now naturally branching outwards to DJing. With priority set upon his original productions, he creates intelligent, multi-genre sets ranging from the deepest of deep to the most savage heavy basslines around. Whatever the style, wherever the venue, be prepared for a thorough soaking in sub bass!
Via Hush Nightclub, past gigs and under the alias’ “Fossil” and “Eclectrix”:
A music producer focused on exploring the deeper, rhythmic side of UK Dance Music, Fossil is a resident for Cloudsounds electronic nights as well as for the TXTED Sound System. Hosting a weekly show on CFUV 101.9FM, he spins sets of exclusively vinyl, maintaining the analog format which originally drove the scene. From drum n’ bass to dub-based music, he is positioned to bring deep, rolling rhythm and bass tunes to the Victoria masses in 2012. Keeping one foot in the roots of dubstep while constantly pushing the sound forward, Fossil is not to be missed.
Andrew Lynch has been playing Breakz for 10 years getting his first gig in London’s infamous squat party scene, playing his friends records in warehouse on the East Side near Kings Cross. Andrew soon became well known for his wild stage presence, comedic humour…and yes he did buy his own records, and soon moved back to Victoria.
Andrew’s Breakz sets are heavily influenced by Hip Hop and his sound is what he calls “Shit That Makes Your Ass Move!“a mix of Booty Breakz, Nu Skool Breakz, Big Beat and Funky Breakz. And Andrew has brought this perfect mix programming, style, and his personality to the sweat drenched dance floors of Hush and Sunset Room playing with some of the BC’s best Including Czech, W.A.X., Jon-E Industry, Carson, Mykee, Briden, Happyfeet and Tom Nemesis. Andrew has now started to produce his own music when he is not writing about himself in a 3rd person point of view, so you can expect some homemade weapons of mass destruction be played out in the near future.
Whether he’s opening for international superstars like Tipper, Bassnectar,A skillz and the Freestylers; rocking a headlining slot at an outdoor party or providing backdrop beats in a local lounge, Generic is the kind of DJ who fully brings it, whatever the gig.
Founded in Sun Peaks, British Columbia in 2011, Two half robot minds collided, one as a student, one as a teacher, to create an earthquake-like energy. D-FUNKT, (Koric) holding 25+ years of musical experience of all kinds, shared the art of mixing music digitally with newcomer DJ CRASCOURSE (Lange). Shortly after passing on the skill of mixing and partyrocking, D-FUNKT & CRASHCOURSE as a duo, began playing live dj events together. It wasn’t before long that the energy created by these two started becoming more and more ridiculous and entertaining. After multiple shows played together, a few beers, and a couple smashed ideas, “Perv ‘Stache” was born. “It’s always nice to see the DJ’s dancing as hard as the party people on the dancefloor..” is something that’s said and appreciated about Perv ‘Stache. These two electronically influenced men are here to deliver straight goods, laughs, witty punchlines, and so much bass it would make any fisherman jealous. If your opportunity comes up to party with these two sleeze machines, grab them a drink, flash them a smile and a high five…you’ll be friends forever. You might even get to go for a ride in their van after the show…..
One part sexy robot and one part aerobics instructor, 25 year old Matt Dauncey has managed to find the middle ground between music and athletics. By harnessing the power of wrestling suits, tennis sweatbands, vintage synthesizers, and electric guitar, Neighbour has tapped into an ancient power-source that has given him the capacity to conjure up frenzied dancefloors
wherever he is needed. Through a mysterious process that involves not one, but TWO gigantic crystals, the Homebreakin Records co-owner has managed to combine the raw ecstacy of the early days of disco with razor-sharp futuristic production.
His hybrid DJ / live performance tore across the continent this year, culminating in an incredible series of festival dates across western Canada, including headlining slots at Shambhala 2009, Soundwave, Bass Coast Project, Astral Harvest, and Summer Break. In addition to playing almost 100% original production and remixes, Neighbour plays live synthesizer and electric guitar alongside his legendary DJ sets, which range from no-nonsense electric funk bangers to gorgeous technicolor remixes of classic garage, disco, and house music.
Not one to be pigeonholed, Neighbour has spent the better part of the last two years collaborating with everyone in sight. Upcoming dancehall tracks with Calgary’s Ouda Ouda, boogie-raps with fellow performer MC ThinkTank, and an unbelieveable slate of remixes and original releases guarantee that as soon as you think you know that “Neighbour Sound”, it has grown into something completely different.
Some people say that dance music isn’t as fun as it used to be; then again, some people haven’t seen a grown man in a unitard shoot lazers out of his guitar far away into the night sky.
DJ Klever aka Josh Winkler was born on the fourth of July in 1977, the son of famous blues musician, Juke Joint Johnny. Josh distinctly recalls going to his father’s shows at a young age and listening him jam out on the harmonica. At the tender age of four, he received his very first drum set, a “manimall” Muppet Show kit that he practiced playing until the skins busted.
Josh spent most of his adolescence like any all-american kid: baseball, grinding curbs, and eating apple pie. He lived to sneak out at night and hit Atlanta’s local skate spots where he caught a healthy reputation for his competitive spirit and pushing big tricks.
At the age of sixteen, Josh’s competitive passion for both tricks and music met the almighty turntable and Klever was born. Growing up with a hip hop background, Klever studied djs like Premier, Cash Money, Afrika Bambaataa and Jazzy Jeff for their mixing and scratching arrangements.
In 1997, Klever started competing in every local competition possible where he began practicing with the Third World Citizens - Faust, Shorty, Shotgun, Craze, and T-Rock. In 2000, Klever seized the national DMC championship title and while at the international DMC competition, he was inducted into the world famous Allies crew, which consisted of renowned turntablists Craze and A-Trak. He began traveling the globe a lot with Craze. Shortly after, the two released the cult classic “ Scratch Nerds.” Klever began to produce prominent break record’s for battle djs and producers. In 2001, Klever successfully defended his national DMC title. He then represented the states in London for the international title. Later that year, he also won the national ITF title in San Francisco.
Beyond his accredited mastery as a turntablist, Klever has developed a healthy reputation as “tomorrows dj”. Klever has established his name throughout the dj circuit for his crowd-roaring routines and mix sets. Being born and raised an ATLien, his signature style (on and off the decks) moves crowds in every direction from his roots of crunk, booty, and hip hop to the sweaty sounds of electro, dance-rock, b-more, new-wave, hard rock, and anything worthy to make you rock with finesse.
In the past 5 years, Klever has been performing his signature sets non-stop around the world (Taiwan, England, Ireland, Germany, New Zealand, Scandinavia, Australia, Japan, etc). He consistently amazes crowds and party-goers from 60 to 60,000 at world renowned venues such as Miami’s Mansion, Amsterdam’s Paradiso, NYC’s Roxy and Irving Plaza, Fabric in London, and many more.
He has released several mix CDs obtaining notoriety from culture heavy hitters such as Turntable Lab and Tablist magazine. He also two immensely popular battle break records with DJ SHOTGUN (former dj for Goodie Mob), Dirty South Breaks and Get Crunk Breaks. He has also done remixes for Cool Kids, The Carps, Kill the Noise, Steed Lord to name a few.
Not only audibly, Klever’s skills have been featured in numerous DVDs: the film Scratch (a DJ documentary awarded at the Sundance Music Festival, A-Trak’s “Sunglasses are a Must”, Stanton’s – “Step-By-Step” (instructional), “Tableturn’s - A Great Day In Turntablism”, the 2000 & 2001 USA/World DMC Championships, the 2001 ITF USA Championships, 2002 & 2003 USA and JAPAN ALLIES Invitational All Star Beatdown, and the upcoming ALLIES (untitled) self produced DVD.
Klever is presently working on collaborative projects that encompass the street culture lifestyle through music art and fashion. Between touring nonstop and his dedicated lab time, Klever is the dj to watch.

HIGH ENERGY WEST COAST BASS!!! Fusing 2 fresh-out-of-High-School electronic music addicts Wesley Bain and Xavier Walker together created 12 feet and 350 lbs. of turbo-boosted man flesh: W.A.X, in 2003. These two heavy hitters have together shared a 7 year love affair with funky bassline breakbeats in Victroria, BC. Wes and Xavier’s ablilty to lift a crowd to cosmic heights using uplifting and gripping melodies with chunky bubbling bass is like no others. They truly feed off each other like savages and are most known for their relentless energy, tight mixing, unique and monstrous track selection and their ability to mix genres all over the map while mashing in acapellas. Im waiting for a big label to sign me right now so I am not signed. I have family there so I will be at VEMF regardless, id love to play
For two years now WHOA, GRENADE! have insistently made their mark around BC. They don’t talk, they don’t joke. They just make you dance. It’s as simple as that. Whatever it takes. From an intimate room of a couple hundred to a massive crowd of thousands, they’ve proved this. It doesn’t matter what they play. From their spine-chilling productions to the most exclusive music you wish you had (which gets delivered straight to their inboxes), anything they put on those speakers will make you dance. It doesn’t take many conversations with many people around the island to confirm that. Signing with Burn the Fire records in Los Angeles didn’t hurt them, either. Expect their debut EP August 1st. Also expect massive official remixes of high-profile artists such as Alex Mind (ft. Sue Cho), Fast Foot, and many more. These guys won’t stop until they hit the top.
When asked “What style of music do you play”, JFI aka Jon-E Industry can only describe it as “BANGIN SHIT”. It’s this blend of Electro House, Breakbeat, Dubstep, & Drum & Bass that has helped establish his presence in such a short amount of time. Although he had been Promoting and Djing events for several years, it wasn’t until late 2007 that he decided it was time to start taking Music Production seriously. After 8 months of dedicated, hard work in the studio, Jonny had signed his first official remix deal, and now boasts releases on powerhouse labels such as BugEyed Records, DLA Black, Champion Beats, Play Digital, Big Fish Recordings, and Miles Dyson’s Plasmapool Records. During his short time in the game he has earned himself places on the Beatport.com, Trackitdown.net, Junodownload.com’s Top 100 charts including holding down the #1 and #2 spots on Dancerecord.com consecutively! With a stash of bass music ready for war he has no plans of slowing down, so expect the unexpected as he fights his way through the ranks and takes the music industry by force!

Elevenn Seraphim is a unique musical experience. It is a ferocious blend of dubstep, glitch and hiphop. Using the classic formula of DJ and turntables, Elevenn uses conscious darkness slathered on psyche shattering beats to save the masses from their bleak everyday lives. Seraphim is the result of a powerful individual finding the beauty in the struggle and using every watt to ravage every ear within range. Living on the edge in Victoria BC, she has been given a divine right to do this.
Elevenn is almost too much to deal with. As a DJ, she is personally responsible for ushering in the Dubstep scene in Calgary. Having found her soul in the sheer filth of Dubstep in 2006, while most other DJ’s were busy growing hair in strange new places, Elevenn made it her personal mandate to pwn the scene’s largest parties and give the kids something fresh. A skilled turntablist, with a true gift for reading the crowd’s energy, her sets leave people in a sweaty satisfied mess. Elevenn on the decks is a gothic dark empress with a soft touch and an iron fist. Dub chub may occur, be forewarned.
So this is 2011 and everybody better hold their ankles, cause the sky is about to bleed. The studio is up, the tables are spinning, the mic is armed and the volume is making doctors nervous. The album is coming. Seraphim is crafting a sound scape that even the Sandman couldn’t dream up. There are wet bibles and exploding pianos in the sample bank and that’s just the beginning. Elevenn is a talented producer and has been creating beats and honing her craft into excellence for the past few years. Keep your ears open as the process continues. But, oh no, don’t think that it stops there. Seraphim is taking this to your front door. Performing all over Pacific Northwest and internationally, know the name so you can stay up to date, I mean, who doesn’t want to have their face melted off?
Elevenn headlined alongside shows with other demigods such as: Caspa, Aquasky, Subvert, Benny Page, Excision, Ill-esha and DJ Swamp to name a few, and she’s rocked shows and festivals across the country, from Montreal to Victoria and everywhere in between. The experience is like no other. A new age is upon us. Hark, hear the Seraphim sing.
Plus 2 has been making his sound known across the world as a proponent of Midtempo, Skweee and the Glitch Hop genres. A proud member of Glitch Hop Forum and Stereoshift, this past year has seen him rise to play with some of the worlds leading artists and to packed venues all over Canada. Consistently releasing free music via Soundcloud, he has been featured in several blogs, mixes and articles including Time Warp Bass, Subsynthesis, Doctor Krank, Bomarr and Union Sound. With the release of his feature EP Contra Code on Tycho Records, he has set a standard and keeps rising the ranks of EDM culture.

Blending his background in Funk, Soul, R&B, and Hip Hop with his love of Purple Crunk and UK Funky, ThatsDeep finds it difficult to place himself within a genre, often referring his sound to future styles and bringing the sexy back.
Raised in one of Calgary’s most diverse neighbourhoods by equally eclectic parents, ThatsDeep grew up in the midst of funk filled backyard parties and multicultural friends. Where music of genres from all over the globe flowed, he managed to enhance his already developing melodic palate. Throwing his first show at the age of twelve, it was evident that he was an old soul, rich with rhythm.
After a brief stint in the fashion industry, ThatsDeep became an integral part in Calgary’s music and nightlife scene as he began promoting and throwing events and showcases for artists he felt passionate about. With a focus on unique venues, mind blowing sounds, and a sense of community, ThatsDeep opened the doors for many to the ever growing bass scene, despite challenges of introducing the new and unknown.
ThatsDeep made his return to the decks in 2009 with a weekly residency dubbed ‘Cold Chillin’ wednesdays at Bungalow Lounge in Calgary, followed by playing alongside TheRinseOut crew for their Friday night bass party, ‘Modern Math’. After making Victoria his new habitat, he has since been seen at Whitebird Lounge, The Reef Restaurant, Touch Lounge and Hush Nightclub.
ThatsDeep believes in striving for truth, knowledge, and using the power held deep within us to stay in the light. As the world sees more battles with the dark side, he sees music as an essential tool in obtaining these goals. His sexy, cosmic sounds hold an unpretentious welcome to anyone from anywhere as he invites you to join his journey into the deep end.
Nate Jones has always had a strong love for music. It started at the age of five when he first tickled the ivories, to when he touched his first Tech 12 at 17. This household Victoria name from years gone by spent several years in Vancouver with residencies at numerous lounges, and gracing such clubs as the infamous Lotus. Nate’s been keeping a low profile since returning to Victoria, and has been turning his obsession with music into to something that can be felt on a global scale. He spends his time writing new tracks for record labels and honing his producer skills. He has just finished work on his 5th EP, which will hit the shelves soon! Summer has arrived and it’s time for this DJ/Producer/Musician to come out of hibernation.

Established as a dj for 11 years, Alex Venne aka Merlin FX , has had the many opportunities. One of the biggest was the chance to be part of Ground-Level production-Who was one of the foremost DnB production companies in Victoria.

In the winter of 2004,MerlinFX joined CC-Radiostation.com where he hosted weekly shows every Wednesday. Unfortunately, MFX had to cancel his CC-Radio show due to scheduling conflicts.
Shortly after that, Alex found out about Aftershockradio (ASR) out of Gloucester, London.Run by one, of the leading (lady)active DnB Dj in England ,MISSREPRESENT.MerlinFX had the chance to be part of the
Aftershock familly for nearly 4 and a half years, rocking his blend of DnB,every thursday NIGHT! UK time of course!!!

Starkillers is best known for his signature blend of catchy vocals, booming bass lines and genre-defying range. From New York to Japan, Starkillers has had a massive impact on the world of electronica. The Las Vegas native is best known as the man behind the MASSIVE hits Discoteka & Scream. Discoteka was the very first track released under his Starkillers alias and lived at the top of the Billboard Dance and Beatport sales charts, named an “Essential Selection” on Pete Tong’s BBC1 radio show, nominated for best underground track at the IDMAs, and supported by almost every major DJ out there. But the track’s success simply encouraged the hard working producer to get his ass back into the studio and create a world of music his friends and fans have come to recognize him for.
Starkillers has an impressive list of musical accomplishments: he runs the record label Terratraxx that he started in 2002, has produced a ton of original productions and done an equally impressive number of high profile remixes. Putting forth this kind of effort and throwing down this kind of heat, Starkillers has become one of the most sought after producers in the game. So look out for his name and brand cause chances are he will be in your city soon.

What began as a simple love for music has grown into something much bigger. With a background in jazz trumpet, Phate took his love for hip hop and music knowledge, and began producing and DJing in 1998.
Producing his first DIY CD in 2001, Phate sold over 500 copies by simple word of mouth. This CD allowed him the opportunity to work with artists he would have never had.
Phate has since played along side such artists as T-Pain, Warren G, Naughty By Nature, A-Trak, Dirt Nasty, K’Naan, Kardinal Offishall, Isis from Thunderhiest, Swollen Members, The Beatnuts, Sweatshop Union, Karl Wolf and Moka Only to name a few.
Somewhere along the line, Phate gained a love for dance music. With a affinity for electro house, disco house and his own productions, Phate has become the man to call to make the kids dance.
Fronted by the enigma that is :DT:, a visceral crowd-mesmerizing vocal powerhouse capable of hypnotizing thousands of people and holding them in the palm of his outstretched hand, guiding them through the journey that is the Wordclock experience.
Backed by the entity known as Renfield, part man, part machine and possibly of alien origin. Little is known about Renfield, and what is known is rarely spoken out loud. He stands behind his wall of technology and ushers in the soundtrack too humanities utter destruction and de-evolution, setting it too a pulsing, pounding beat.
In short, Wordclock is explosive Post-Apocalyptic Cinematic Industrial music. They will show you the future, for this is 2012, the dawning of a new age, and the Wordclock is ticking like a timebomb, ready to explode.
Hailing originally from San Jose california, now residing in Victoria BC, G. Bass was introduced into the world of electronic music in 05’ when attending Shamabhala music festival. Since then he has been HOOKED and ADDICTED to soul twisted basslines. what started with a passion for DnB, electro, and breaks turned into a wide range of styles of the west coast bass scene in the California bay area and all over British Columbia into the glitch, midtempo, ghetto funk, and future sounds of indescribable tweaked beats. Anything twisted with a deep desire to make people loose their minds or feel at peace, from the most raging bangers or to the most soul melting basslines, from 50bpm to 170bpm and beyond it does not matter.

Toby Emerson’s beats and bass lines rumble low, underneath addictive hooks and grooves that are guaranteed to rock the club! A producer of elite quality; Toby’s music is meant to be felt as much as heard on the dance floor. His tracks expertly maneuver the musical space between big room electro, house and peak time progressive and have sold in excess of 45,000 copies worldwide! Packing such wicked weaponry, it is no wonder Mr. Emerson has releases on labels like Bug Eyed, Big Fish, System and Subversive. He has received airplay by Judge Jules, and is a featured artist of music software giant, FL Studio. That being said, 2011 is the year you have the opportunity to see one of the continents best party rockers at a club near you!

(Check UMEK’s #1 Seller OMGWTF!) All three sample packs have received stunning reviews by computer music magazine.
A talented musician, who sometimes plays guitar and even sings lead vocal on his tracks(Check Never Comin Down!) Toby has had some help along the way. In 2007 he completed the recording arts program at the AI center for Digital Imaging and Sound in Vancouver, Canada. It was around that time that he would often share tips with another Canadian talent on the verge of stardom, Deadmau5. Toby would later utilize his honed skills to produce a stunning sonic reworking of Deadmau5’s Sofi Needs A Ladder. His remix would finish in the top ten of the official Beatport contest and was later given to fans for free.
A side project entitled The Afterschool Special was formed in 2008, as a collaborative with friend, and fellow electro head Jon-E Industry. This hugely successful partnering sparked Electro hits like “Full House” and “Big Money Jazz Hands,” that landed on the hugely successful Bug Eyed Records. Their continued success has brought forth a slew of support and remixes by big name artists including Calvertron, Electric Soulside and collaborations with Canadian favorite Robb G!
Toby Emerson is a great live performer who puts just as much into his live shows as his productions. During his live shows you can expect custom made remixes, edits, loops and the best in progressive, electro, house, techno and everything in between. Impeccable taste and a supernatural sense of what moves the crowd has proved Toby to be one of Western Canada’s top musical performers.
2011 is the year Toby is setting his sights on attaining new heights. He is gearing up to include a Canadian and Asian tour, in addition to an assault of media projects and releases all destined to top the charts. Included is his track Fall Silently with Christoph Maitland and vocalist Veela. Dropping on Audio Planet Recordings it has generated a massive buzz and will feature remixes work by Brazilian star Alex Mind. Also slated for 2011 is the inception of Toby’s own website selling his much sought after samples and synth patches for use in music production. So take note and be prepared to dance your ass off as one of North America’s best selling electronic artists touches down at a club near you.

Joy Kitikonti was born in Tuscany. He felt immediately a great passion for music when he was young, probably influenced by his father, a musician during 60’s 70’s. His career began in 80’s, he was a self taught musician, skilful with the battery and percussion instruments. Joy is a polyhedric artist with several discographic successes, important partnerships and awards in his background. All these experiences made him the complete artist of today. His underground vocation comes from those boundary territories, where music means fun, not just money, where friendship among the artists goes further than the interests of the music industry. Joy has already released hundreads of tracks during the latest years, both under his real name and under different pseudonyms. Joy Kitikonti is a complete artist and he has a deep musical background, he’s really appreciated by his collegues for his creative fantasy and his original sound. He’s really requested also as remixer.

Dust began his DJ career in the frozen north of British Columbia in Prince George. Shortly after discovering his love of electronic music, he quickly felt the need to give back to the community through music and promotion. Dust began promoting with Vinylution Productions before becoming a resident and co-founded PGPK Productions with Scott Wright. Before long Dust became a leading DJ in Prince George and surrounding cities playing a variety of music from progressive to house and breakbeat. In the summer of 2004 Dust left the north for the sunnier shores of Victoria where he continues to DJ to enthusiastic audiences at various clubs, afterhour establishments and parties in and around the capital region.

Like the name implies, YUKKURi’s style is rather casual and laid-back. But don’t let that take-it-easy attitude fool you. His hard-hitting, high-energy mixes will keep you on your toes and your hands in the air from the first song to the last! Specializing in Happy Hardcore, UK Hardcore, Hard House and Makina, as well as the unique styles of various Japanese Hardcore artists, you may not find YUKKURi at your local nightclub, but if you happen to find yourself moving to some hard-hitting beats played by a guy wearing a big red bow, then you’ve probably already found him!
Alissa is passionate about art, cooking, clothing & costume design, music, & dancing. As “NeonSally”, she spent many sleepless nights dancing all over the interior of BC & under the stars at The Shambhala Music Festival to her favorite DJs.
Alissa’s first appearance as DJ “Lyssa” took place in 2005. Having spent 11 years in Mexico, and being fortunate enough to be exposed to Latin culture, she has a strong desire to explore her roots in her musical selections. Depending on what mood we catch her in, hot summer afternoons call for deep sexy Chicago beats and bouncy latin-infused house, and on colder nights, expect anything from dirty deep organic tribal tech to quirky & fun latin tech house….
Lyssa made Victoria her home in spring 2007. Recently Lyssa has had the privilege of opening for some amazing artists, like DJ Rice, Lori J Ward, and Kenzie Clarke. She has performed at summer festivals like Victoria Electronic Music Festival, Entheos Gathering, Uprising, and Solaris, as a solo dj, and with Skylo Raine as “UFO”. You can catch her playing in Victoria at some of the city’s coolest lounges & underground hotspots like The Sunset Room, Hush, & Base Lounge, or at two of Canada’s best music festivals, Entheos Gathering and Shambhala Music Festival.
For the past three years, the DJ and producer born Ashley Jones has been making it rain in the disco with innovative remixes and original tracks. Jones is far from a new jack, having racked up over a decade of international club experience and studio chops as part of the legendary drum & bass group, Evol Intent. Yet as Treasure Fingers, he’s found a way to merge his diverse influences and deep history into a signature sound, packed with intricate basslines, chopped-up, gritty synth melodies, and party-ready drum breaks. It’s already captured the ears of everyone from rock groups Snowden and Miike Snow to house legends Romanthony and Roy Davis JR (all of whom personally requested the Treasure Fingers remix treatment). Equally intrigued were A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs, who quickly signed Treasure Fingers to their tastemaking label Fool’s Gold, home to Kid Sister, Duck Sauce and other buzzed-about favorites.
Treasure Fingers “Cross The Dancefloor”: “I dj now, and right now this is my favorite song to play. It’s a rare underground song” (Will.I.AM’s Favorite Party Starter Track, People Magazine) “Cross The Dancefloor” was Treasure Fingers’ debut, an inescapably catchy, vocoder-laced dance gem that two-steps over genre boundaries. The instant classic received support from AList DJs around the world such as Erick Morillo, Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Sinden and Kissy Sell Out. Treasure Fingers has kept the momentum going with heavy touring and official remixes for numerous artists including Little Boots (I Am Sound), Chromeo (Vice/Atlantic), Estelle (Atlantic), Empire of the Sun (EMI), Kid Sister (Downtown), Kid Cudi (G.O.O.D/Sony), N.A.S.A (Epitaph), and James Curd (Om) (remix went to #1 on the Beatport Club Chart). A constant favorite on Hype Machine, he has also received amazing support from such blogs as Disco Dust, Boom Boom Chik, Indy Shuffle, Big Stereo and Discobelle to name a few. A new batch of equally funky Treasure Fingers originals & a mix CD are on their way along with tours in North America, Europe, UK, Asia, Australia and South America. These coming after successful tours and gigs with artists Roy Davis Jr, Fake Blood, A-Trak, Chromeo, Laidback Luke, Fred Falke, Felix da Housecat & Benny Benassi, to name a few.
What else would you expect from the A-Town original with the Midas touch, who continues to receive accolades and Radio 1 support from heavy hitters Pete Tong, Annie Mac (with a mini mix under his belt), Kissy Sellout, Jaymo & Andy George, all helping Treasure Fingers launch up, up and away into the future with people worldwide shakin’ it cross the dancefloor. Taking musical influence from the early-90’s rave scene, lessons from the pioneers of modern acid techno and an intimate knowledge of analogue synthesis and electronic sound hardware, MUX has created a style all his own. Driving and rhythmic, organic and aggressive, rowdy and fun, MUX blends a unique sound and a powerful stage presence into a performance that can only be described as live rave techno.
Evan Jones has been a member of Soundproof, a Vancouver-based electronic music collective, since 2005. Soundproof has been throwing high quality, late-night, underground parties for the last 14 years. Their events are known for being intentionally small and intimate in scope, advertised primarily through word of mouth and encompassing a wide range of music that is best described as being hard, but friendly.
Originally a self-professed musical opener or closer, Evan has become a regular peak-time performer and crowd favorite at Soundproof events. He is a regular contributor and member of Area709, a Calgary-based DJ and producer collective and Beheshto, another Vancouver-based artist community. His music is balance between melodic tendencies and a recent preference for more extroverted, slightly dark techno.

Nick’s expertly-sequenced mixtapes have the Chicago Reader calling him “tastemaking royalty who can break an act single-handedly,” while his blends, remixes, and re-edits get spun everywhere from blog radio to commercial stations like Power 106 in Los Angeles. He has a grip of original productions and official remixes on deck, and still finds time to make major moves with Fool’s Gold, the trendsetting record label he co-founded with A-Trak that’s been responsible for introducing new talent like Kid Sister to the world at large.
Yet even as the achievements and accolades stack up, Nick can’t stop looking forward to the next party, the newest tunes, and the good times still to come. Hey, it’s worked so far…

The Beat Junky Break Beat Island, 4TM, Dubhouse, D -Bloc The Beat Junky, aka Nick, has always had a love for music and dancing; finding Break Dancing in 1983, he began teaching, and competing on Vancouver Island. With this fueling his passion for the arts he grew to appreciate the many Genre’s of Electronic music. He began on home CD players in 1995; mixing Techno, House and Industrial, and progressed to turntables in 1996; primarily mixing Drum and Bass – and it was at this point that the Beat Junky came to life! The Beat Junky has played all over Vancouver Island, on the Main Land, as well as the Gulf Islands. With the formation of the Temple of Gong (T.O.G.), a small group of DJ’s that would ‘renegade’ parties, Nick was able to establish himself as a DJ, later to be know as the ‘Godfather of DnB on the Island’. He has opened for such names as: Freaky Flow, DJ Raw, Mat The Alien, The FreeStylers, Ill-Gates, Capital J, Heyoka , The Dirt Crew and more. He has also done shows with Herostraight playing live violin as well some projects involving turntabelists and Didgeridoos. In 2009 this die-hard vinyl lover gave in to our consumerist society, and valuing his love for music and his daughter Imajica he made the switch from vinyl to Serato. With the rise of the age of technology he could finally push himself even further developing new mixing techniques and an ability to access even more music on a global level. With obligations to his family, he made the switch. This has now proven to be a wonderful endeavor, for it has opened up a world full of new possibilities. Nick’s genres include, among the many: Drum-n-Bass (Raga, Jungle, Jump-up, Techstep, Hardstep, Liquid funk, Grime and now Drumstep & Halfstep); Dub-step; and Glitch-hop. If it has a broken beat he is not far away! As well as being a full time Dad, he is also a body piercer in Duncan, at Mike’s Tattoos; however Nick will not let life get in his way, for there is a new Beat on the rise, ready for anything that this industry has to offer him.

Known for their genre-defying mix tapes and 4-turntable performances, DJ Wood & DJ Soo have proven time and again their ability to rock just about any crowd that’s put before them. Since join- ing forces in 2004 they have attained a world wide cult following and shared the stage with an impres- sive list of international talents, including DJ Z-Trip, Bassnectar, Afrika Bambaataa, Q-Bert, DJ NuMark, Stanton Warriors, Shy FX, Zion I, South Rakkas Crew and many more. On the strength of their diverse and bass heavy 2 x 4 sets, they have played clubs, parties & festivals across the country and become main- stays of BC’s night life scene.
In the past year the duo have stepped up their studio output considerably. DJ Soo’s debut vinyl release (‘The Message’ on Ghetto Funk) and the duo’s first collaborative release (‘Attack Jam’ on Tre- mendo Records) each reached the top of the sales charts on Junodownload.com, maintaining the #1 position for 20+ days. Blog favorites like Soo’s “The Choice Is Yours” and Wood’s “Raver” have charted on Soundcloud.com with thousands of downloads from around the globe. A slew of remix work and an array of bootlegs and edits have culminated the release of their latest mixtape, entitled ‘Too Big To Fail’.
Wood ‘n’ Soo are seasoned crate diggers, raised in the age of vinyl LPs and 12” singles. The onset of the digital era has done nothing to dimin- ish their hunger for fresh new sounds. While rock- ing the party remains first priority, the duo refuse to be pigeon-holed into any particular genre or style
of DJing. Hip hop, Funk, Disco & Reggae form the roots of their sound, while their sets and productions branch out to include an array of styles from past to present.

Doomwork may be summed up and identified in one single term: “unconventional”. Musically grown in the early years of the new millennium – when Italian dance had its point of apex- Alessandro and Claudio started to looking for darker sonority ; the path for the discovering of Detroit’s “Techno” music scene and its founders was short: Derrick May, Juan Atkins and Jeff Mills. Shortly after, their tin ear brought them to the so called “Big Beat” and its facets: Synth Rock, Funk, Hip Hop (Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Prodigy). At the same time they started to be interested into the Chicago House movement, born in the first half of the 80’s. Alessandro and Claudio decided collaborating together in 2008 and thus giving start to the Doomwork project. They soon reached the top of the Beatport chart, the famous reference portal of world modern club culture, with the song “Isla” first (two months n°1 in the deep house chart),and “Jazzy Stuff” then (two months n°1 in the general chart, resulting as the top selling record of 2009) and scoring again with “Groovin” (one month n°1 in the deep house chart, boasting one of the world deep house guru’s remix: Milton Jackson). In 2010 they are among the nominees of the Beatport Awards in the “the best deep house track” session, obtaining a second price with their track “Lost in memory”. All their productions constantly get positive feedbacks from the most important djs of the techno world scene as Carl Cox, Loco Dice, Karotte, 2000andOne, Radioslave, Satoshi Tomiee and many more. Their musical output brought them not only fame, but also drawn the attention of the biggest expertise of the international “scene” : Dylan Hermelijm (aka 2000andOne), chief of Planet Gong (one of the most estimate European organization), is one of them. He decided to remix and release the track “Andromeda” on the historic dutch techno label 100%PURE. The track went “on air” on BBC radio during Pete Tong broadcast “Essential Mix”, and then was released in the compilation “Wonderland” for Pete Tong’s label “Defected Records”, “Andromeda” thus became one of the most important project of the duo. Many of their works are included in the most important compilations : Space Ibiza comp. , Privilege Ibiza comp. , Cavo Paradiso “Definitons” vol. 10 (mixed by Satoshi Tomiee) , Campari Sunset ,released by Sony Music to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the famous drink. They have been performing in clubs all over the world since 2009; Air Club (Tokio) for the Redbull Master Night, Q Club (Zurich) , Tenax ( Florence), Goa (Rome), Elrow 14 (Barcelona), Bullit Club (Monaco), are only some of the clubs the duo perfomed in. Despite this intense working period, they managed to focus on their live set, a music container that ranges from “deep” and “techno”, “electro” and “house”, “prog” and “hip hop”, and brought to life their own musical purpose, in order to create a bond between the artist and the dance floor. The project immediately received positive feedbacks, and met the dancefloor during the “Amsterdam Dance Event 2010” where it can be brought to the audience in the setting of the famous “Studio 80” . Since then it became part of the “Saw Recordings” tour, Satoshi Tomiee and Hector Romero’s label. At the end of a busy 2010, the 2011 seems to be hectic either, with the launch of their own label “Retouch Recordings”, with the new projects that seem to be more important than the previous years, a new 100%PURE release and the debut on “Audiomatique”, Steve Bug’s label (Trentemoller latest album was released on the same label, just for the record), and together with their first concept album soon to be made, we’ll hardly see them enjoying a cocktail
Spending an unhealthy amount of time perfecting his craft, Lewd Behavior (aka Wyatt Compagna) is a highly technical artist. In the studio he is meticulous, and on stage he is outrageous. If he sets foot in the club you can expect live edits, mash ups, original productions, remixes, and exclusive tracks he would be assassinated for telling you about. Not to mention he was dropping beats at the bar before he was old enough to drink. This all culminates into an infectious live experience that will keep you feverishly salivating for more.
Xavier’s energy behind the decks is like no other.. He strongly believes that it’s always 50% stage prescence, 50% skill and of course 100% track selection. Since 2001, his goal has been to make sure that you experience first hand what a ridiculously good set is all about. He surges out waves of party rocking breaks, disco synths and electro hooks, mixing everything flawlessly, while mashing in acapella’s..
It’s 2012. 50+ parties, 100+ opening gigs and a couple headlining slots later and Xavier is pushing boundaries more than before, and with his Breakbeat partner, Wes Beanz. As W.A.X and by himself, Xavier has shared the stage with international stars like A Skillz, Stanton Warriors, Alex Metric, NAPT, The Freestylers, Chase & Status, The Breakfastaz, Treasure Fingers, Dilemn, General Midi, Hook N Sling, Busta, Farace, Pimpsoul, Atomic Hooligan, DJ Quest, Baobinga, D.I.M. & Shimon.. Do not miss seeing this kid rock the stage. When he gets going, It’s unparalleled to anything out there.

D-mana started Dj’ing in 2006 but the love of music goes deeper than that. as a percussionist for over 16 years I’ve explored the whole realm of tribal beats and know what will make you want to shake it on the dance floor. In 01 I began my love of electronic dance music and by 06 dancing was not enough I had to interact with it. Now after five years of slaying local house/beach parties and a few small festivals I’ve got a sound you’ll want to here, deep, tight, progressive and always psychedelic
